Love it! To answer the last two questions: I would love Revelation Space to have an adaptation; that or Simmons’ Hyperion series. Also, I think Ringworld would succeed if and only if they handle the visuals with care.
Ringworld, if you throw a ton of money at it, could be great. Niven’s a the-details-are-what-really-matter kind of writer (his narratives can sometimes be... um... not great), and IF you can capture all the worldbuilding he does on paper with appropriately dazzling effects... I think you’ll have something.
But it’s a…
Ringworld deserves more attention. I can’t imagine how they are going to do it visually but I want to find out.
We’ll be listening to Reason before we know it.
SNOW CRASH!
The entire bit when Supes saves the helicopter, then flies around stopping every other crime in Metropolis is one of the single best sequences in film, in no small part due to Williams’ theme.
So even though the latest cinematic incarnation of the Man of Steel has his own excellent theme
The catch is it’s the Man of Steel Superman.
I hope that it ultimately plays when Superman returns (in his black suit?) and it isn’t ultimately clear whose side he’s on, but hits its apex when it’s clear he’s a good guy.
It does make a sad sort of sense that Williams’s inspiring theme is used for a “dark” moment for them.
I don’t care what anybody says, I still wanna tear my goddamn shirt off to this music. And I did when I got married to Mrs Bantaro last November:
The only reason I have any desire to see this is Jason Mamoa & Gal Gadot. I hope the changes Joss Whedon is making are extensive, and it sounds like they are.
It does kind of look like a fat guy vomiting to the left.
Can we get Paul Reubens to reprise his role as the Ship?
Well played.
Here ya go:
Seems promising. I’d like to see a trailer.
