The pilot was bad. The characters internal logic made no sense, the Klingons look stupid and act stupid, it was basically retcon city, etc.

Speaking with THR, Alex Kurtzman stated a second season would air “ideally, on the early side of 2019.”

I was just at Disney World recently and the Avatar section of Animal Kingdom was packed day and night. Ride wait time exceeding 3 hours for one of the rides.

I am in the small sliver that probably still gives a damn. Story simplicity aside, the first Avatar was probably one of my favorite films in terms of a visual display. My excitement about it has definitely been damaged by how long it’s been between the movies, but once it gets close I’ll probably be hyped again.

I have never once heard someone say “did you see NCIS last night?” but it’s the number one scripted show on TV and makes a ton of money for CBS. By the time Avatar 2 comes out in 3 YEARS, the marketing machine will be in full force and it will be everywhere.

I’m not an Eddie Furlong fan either, but like, it was the role he was born to play.

We’re killing James Cameron because other writers/directors destroyed his franchise? He only worked on the first two (the good ones, though I didn’t mind T3).

Your first point highlights what’s always been my biggest issue with this show. Why are they so afraid of post-DS9/VOY? There’s so much you can do with the threads left over from those shows.
