You’re both right. Forcing diversity amongst a very homogenous just because will absolutely be inauthentic. But MTV doesn’t have to showcase this group of people...we already have a lot of pretty white people on television, and we don’t necessarily need another.

This. MTV knows better. But they invented Snooki, so maybe not. 

Or they could just not reboot this show and focus their energies on making a show with an actually interesting group of diverse friends?
