@trs: Well when you compare it to say the pound and the us dollar or the euro to US dollar that is very close to par. Not only that but there have been several times in the last two years when the Canadian dollar was worth more than US dollar. Frankly I like it when the Candian dollar is worth a little less because we

@Dacker: In Canada we're also not getting the dvd and blu-ray delivery so part of it I believe is to appease us for that little let-down. It also all levels out. I still use my appleTV for latest release rentals. New standard def rentals are 4.99 compared to $3.99 in the states That really adds up per movie!

@trs: Ahhhh stereotypes. It's like pc racism. Our dollar is pretty much on par with your dollar.

@PdxPhoenix: Wait a second. So if a person is purely secular and an atheist without any affiliation to any faith they don't do bad things? Evil or "bad" isn't a religion thing, it's a human thing. We all have the ability to do horrible, horrible things merely because we are human. Don't get me wrong I'm not defending

When they finally release a 3dtv (that was rumoured a while back) that doesn't use glasses at all get back to me.

@silkworm: reminds me a bit of the one robot from Mystery Science Theatre 3000

I'll tell all of you what I told my former room mate when he showed up drunk and frisky after a night out with the lads. "No way on this good green earth am I sticking that in my mouth."

I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti!

@crikerat: Granted. However I think the ipad appeals to people who in the past would not have been interested in owning a computer at all. My mother-in-law for example finds "regular" full powered computers daunting to use. I let her use my wife's ipad and suddenly computing is something accessible and on her level.

@crikerat: In your mind for your circumstances. For most of the people I know with ipads it is their one and main computer. It does what they want it to do. As a geek I don't entirely get that... but it works for them for all their needs. Who am I to tell them they need more.

I use my phone more for data than for calls, so going back just wouldn't work for me. I love the form factor of something like a phone that gives me many of the capabilities that I have on a full size computer. Being restricted to just text and calls would stink.

@A Ferret AKA A Polecat: With instructions on how to properly care for them. Those little suckers stink to high heaven if they're not looked after just right.

@dcdttu: yeah, I guess in theory a lot of that may be true, however I used GSM networks exclusivley in South Africa and never had a problem with signal penetrating through (mostly brick) buildings and never had a single dropped or poor quality call. I think part of it, regardless of whether a company uses gsm or cdma

@chefgon: @redkitten: It's all relative. In South Africa white people are the minority.

@jmasterini: Chill dude. I'm Canadian and I didn't take offence to that. When people speak about America, I assume they mean USA. When it's more specific "North America" or "South America" I assume that person is referring to the entirety of either of those respective continents. In fact I grew up in South Africa and

@technoindigo: Agreed. It's really more comparable to a kids push skooter than skateboard.

@knwldg: It's ironic that the only thing that made this microsoft story interesting is that it was in fact still related to the iphone and the blackberry. Dead iphone or not apple still get's more news and more clicks.
