Is there a way left for Michigan to lose a game in crushing fashion in that stadium. Just in the past 25 years they have lost as a highly ranked team on a blocked field goal, a hail Mary and a muffed snap on a punt. Get your tickets now for 2017. It will be the year of the fumbled kneel down.

“He continued ragging on Cosby, MIMICKING HIS VOICE and responding to the allegations...”

Not sure why people would choose to get on Murphy over whether or not he tells Cosby jokes. For a profession that pats itself on the back for “bravery” (probably 2nd only to journalists), there are probably many who could’ve, slyly and subversively (you know, the way we’re always told true comedy is), taken shots at

I’ve read articles talking about how Belichick is a fan of The Art of War. All I can think of in situations like this (and that timeout he didn’t call right before Butler’s interception in February) is that Sun Tzu adage, “never interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake.”

Mic’ed up Colts players: “Hey, let’s play 2 on 2 for a down, ok?” and then “Hey, you didn’t count 3-Mississsippi! Cheaters!”

yeah i hate Belichick as much as the next guy, but i think most coaches would have panicked here and called a timeout. to his credit, he recognized how utterly stupid it was and let it play out

Which do you think costs more: having a decent field, or not ruining RGIII?

Belichick is basically the Road Runner, who runs up behind the Coyote and watches as he builds yet another device that will either crush him or throw him off a cliff, all without realizing the Road Runner is right behind him.

All I could see.

There is a little more to it than that, although I do agree with you. The beauty of that play was 31 other coaches would have a burned a timeout after the shift. But BB has his team prepared for situations like this, so they immediately knew how and where to reallign. The Colts were probably expecting a timeout to be

Ah yes, the good old days, a time when college wasn’t just a minor league for the pro game because if you could get into college, why the hell would you play professional football?

Sure, but in his position he should have been able to see that there was overall confusion on the play on his team’s side, and call TO just to avoid anything bad happening.

In his defense, no one likes being upstaged.

As the Colts came off the field, head coach Chuck Pagano asked them “why did you snap it?” and “why didn’t you call time out?”

Well, clearly they didn’t know what the fuck they were doing. They didn’t know what they were doing when they designed the play. The didn’t know what they were doing when they practiced it. Why should it be any different when they run it in the game?

If they have been working on this in practice for over a year, the Patriots have obviously seen it before.

My favourite part of the play is that little split second pause between the ball being snapped and the hand off. It lasts just long enough.

What I didn’t get is how could the coaching staff see what was happening out there and NOT call a time out? It was obvious it wasn’t going to work, when the Pats just spread out, and left 3 guys near the snap.

I am among the biggest #CheatriotsHaterz there are, but I have to acknowledge that half of Belichick’s “genius” is in simply standing still while 90 percent of the league does utterly stupid shit all around him
