I agree with everything else you said, but a mid-season retirement is pretty much the definition of quitting on a team. If it’s his health, obviously that takes priority. Otherwise, I’m disappointed he’s not finishing out the year with his team.
I meant outside of Spurrier, Gamecocks football has never done much. They’ve been to 20 bowl games ever, and Spurrier’s taken them to nine of those.
