Charging a 20 year old, flopping like the 20 year old struck him and then doing a little jig is disgusting.

JALAPENO MAC, BRO!
The whole season for PEDs? Jesus, you’d think the guy was caught trying to sneak a free meal at the dinning commons or something.
Is it with or without pay?
Fired is a bit of a stretch, but suspended yes. He is the head coach and actively engaged in unsportsmanlike behavior by pretending that a 20 year old pushed him.
You aren’t
But he wasn’t understaffed. By any reasonable definition.
30 for 30 has become insufferable. It was nice in its first run, but a Christian Laettner documentary?! Docs about Kevin Johnson and George Bush throwing out a first pitch? Pretty soon, 30 for 30 will be breathlessly documenting the time Chris Berman couldn’t get a Twix out of the vending machine on the ESPN campus in…
I likeD Simmons columns, but before Grantland, when he was just an ESPN writer with a podcast who had to work with an editor. His stuff slowly got too self indulgent with Grantland and I’m going to bet anything that it was because he didn’t have anybody telling him no to anything. On some level all great sports…
The funny thing is he talked about how some women are “sports hot” or some people are “sports funny” because they’re being compared to gross looking women or unfunny sports guys. But that’s Simmons. He’s sports funny. Sure, compared to Mike and Mike he’s George Carlin in his prime. But is he actually funny or even in…
Yeah, I’m not sure why anyone cares what happens to Bill Simmons. The only memorable thing he’s produced are some epic blog posts about his own reactions to sports. He’s an utterly forgettable TV presence. His takes on pop culture are a dime a dozen.
I still love that anybody can have watched 2 minutes of Grantlands Basketball Hour and decide that Simmons needs a show. I kid. Nobody has ever watched the Basketball Hour.
Are you suggesting that umpires should be suspended for mistakes and games be replayed after a mistake is discovered? Or are you saying suspensions for malicious play that wasn’t called as such during the game is wrong? I’m confused at what you’re saying here.
Well suspensions applied after a game are not exactly unheard of when it comes to dangerous play (in pretty much every sport) and its hardly the first time an umpire has made a mistake with the call at the time. Not sure it’s that big a deal, it was such a ridiculous slide.
Do you want umpires to be suspended when they miss a strike call? My goodness.
I don't get it.
A year from now, we won’t be calling it a “slide”, rather “that time he broke Tejada’s leg..”
Previous coaches were able to beat Mexico and not finish 4th in the Gold Cup with these players you think are so terrible.
No, but he is the technical director. He picked the man who does coach the U-23 team. Klinsmann made a point of integrating the Olympic players into the senior camp this January. He also referred to Olympic qualification as “the main task for 2015.” If we can’t judge him even on the goals he sets, what can we judge…
The team had to go for a result last night against a better team, thus, ugly soccer. Klinsmann will eventually be judged on how well he can win important games and create fluid soccer at the same time, but that’s impossible right now.
