These Fanduel ads are really getting out of hand.

How is it the Public Defenders’ fault that they have virtually zero resources and overwhelming backlogs of caseloads?

The best possible reform for the NYPD is just to make sure damages for their illegal actions come out of their own budget/pensions. Not much incentive to improve if there’s no professional consequence for officers and all the money comes from taxpayers.

What will be interesting to me is, will Sefolosha accept a settlement in the civil case, or will he take it all the way to a verdict? The vast majority of people settle, but Sefolosha doesn’t need the money and can afford to lose. I wonder if he’ll fight it to the end to make a point, which will also cost the city a

It’s not just the access to high dollar lawyers, a huge problem is that many people can’t even post bail. If you can’t post bail and you’ve got kids and/or a job to take care of, you can’t afford to sit in jail for weeks or months until your trial comes. In that case you’re going to be very motivated to just plead

That’s clearly and 8th Amendment violation.

My man, you are so far off base here that Jon Lester might pick you off

Yep. The DA tried to make it go away with a token 1-day community service plea bargain that was rejected. Just about any other defendant wouldn’t have received an offer that good and likely would have taken whatever offer they got.

Your comment is bad and I am starring it so people can see it because it is bad

Public defenders usually have 90-120 clients at any given time. They give a shit, or they wouldn’t be working there. But it’s literally impossible for them to devote this kind of attention to each client. If that pisses you off, you should contact your representatives to allocate more funds and hire more public

His record coming into the year... 20-30. Gets an extension through 2019. His record this year... 2-3. Gets fired. If nothing else, at least his records are consistent.

Good quarterbacks know how to avoid a sack.

From the ESPN article you linked to:

This explains why Peyton and Kubiak compromised on the Pistol.

I’m not Rand Paul

I hated the creep of fantasy sports into the actual reporting of the sports. I literally cannot care about how many fantasy points some QB threw for. Tell me how many yards he had or whatever. But when I watched an NFL pregame show and they broke down everyone’s line up and salaries or whatever nonsense term...that

Totally agree. I don’t give one iota about fantasy; daily or not. I don’t care what people blow their money on. But the sheer volume of commercials inundating every god damn thing I watch and listen to has made me a Draft Kings hater. Yes they deserve to die and I hope they burn in hell.

The government already successfully regulates legal gambling. Why can’t they regulate this too?

This isn’t related to the article really. But I need to let the people know. If you are in Manhattan, food carts that advertise DRAFT KINGS on the side always have food worse than their non advertising competitors. Avoid them.

"unrelated question" Why do QB's lick their fingers all the time during a game?
