My daughter`s Macbook was an example to what "just works" means , NOT that it indicated that all Macs crash or not, like your examples. I have surveys for that.....

Android is gaining ground. No doubt about that. But market share is not the only defining stats of the race. Nokia has had huge market share but that has done them no good. It`s a company going down and maybe Microsoft will save them and each other.

My daughter has a macbook and all this time it has gotten some problems like apps stalling but nothing that stops it from working. Haven`t crashed once. This is what "just works" means, not rebooting and everything stops like on windows. It does`nt mean you will never get a problem.

All apps are required that you use in order to use it. So if you choose to use it it is required that you use it. :) (You have chosen to use the app, so it IS your choice....and not just a requirement.)

By your standards, no company is honest. So in fact, what you want, you can`t get.

Going from sms to twitter is no hard task. Like you said they are very similar. It`s not about following friends or strangers, though that itself is a excellent service for everyone like companies and families, but more about following anything you want, for instance major news events.
