Former prosecutor weighing in. While I wouldn’t go so far as to say that she “gifted” the defense with an appealable issue, there is certainly some merit to the claim. Even if an appellate court says otherwise, it has cast an unnecessary shadow over the proceedings and will be a constant talking point for Republicans

There are other less tangible losses we’re all struggling with as well. Personally my relationship with my father has cratered and simply won’t be the same, ever.

This is the fifth shooting death of a student at Austin-East this year”

Thank you so much for this. This essay is beautifully written and perfectly captures how I have been feeling. I cried reading it. The final paragraph of the essay really resonated (“It was a largely preventable horror that altered the fabric of reality and there are people responsible…).

I have a special needs daughter and it is people’s aggressive denial of the danger she was put in by their behaviors is what was really eye opening to me. Specifically churches and so called “christians” that I don’t think I could ever go back to trusting in any way shape of form.

Which is not to say that these wildly

I think I’ve typed some variation of this comment and then deleted it on several posts, but damn.

This pandemic has really made me lose faith in a lot of people, especially in my personal life. The unbelievable level of selfishness I’ve seen from friends and family who have refused to wear a mask or follow any of the public health orders because some conman on Facebook told them it was BS has made me so angry. There’s no life hack that gets around the knowledge your government was happy to let a vast swath of its population die, no radical acceptance of such a monumental chain of loss.”

lol good luck with that letter because

And one of the women who signed her name in support of Kavanaugh found out later she was the butt of a sex joke in their yearbook. They made up a song about her being slutty.

Unlike many commenters here, I typically have patience with the Kardashian family. They just don’t get under my skin much. But this shit is beyond the pale to me for some reason. I guess I hit my cap. The idea of a 37 yo woman hopping on Instagram live to “prove” her body actually looks a certain way is INSANE to me.

I feel like critical thinking went out years ago when school became all about fulfilling testing requirements. And we don’t have to think about anything critically anymore; we can just tune in to the news of our choice and have them spell out our opinions for us.

Maureen Dowd in last Sunday’s Op Ed in the New York Times.
“Matt Gaetz is everything the Republicans were looking for in Hunter Biden.”

This is intriguing, namely because I’m a wheat/gluten-eating-omnivore and I have zero self-control when on elimination diets, and also because it’s the total opposite of the vegan/raw communities that so annoyed me on Facebook.
