Is the one of the custom difficulty settings or is it separate from that? I want to keep my game firmly set to Hard through my playthrough because.... idk, I just feel wrong dipping below that for any reason. Feels like it would make bigger enemies a touch easier but not in an unwelcome way.

Agreed, this has been a major frustration. Between that and all the vids of cheaters, I’ve just steered clear of ranked and played Social/BTB.  I think people leaving mostly has to do with the consensus that people just want to play Slayer, so they leave anything that isn’t.

I think they just made the systems recently and know how to tweak it. This became a very hot topic on the Halo forums/subreddits, so I think they want to get out news before the press gets too bad.  It’s just editing some challenges for right now, not any kind of overhaul.

Agree, and the “Developers aren’t making good games anymore” sentiment is just wrong here imo. This is the best Halo mp launch (game-wise, not BattlePass- or playlist-wise) since Reach. It’s just good. If someone truly didn’t care about the cosmetics, I think this would be their favorite modern Halo.

The vibe I got after watching the vid was that he forced the Star Child part, but the core ideas were already there. One of the writers described the same ideas, but Shepard talking to a Mother/Queen Reaper in effectively the same way as he does the Star Child.

This is hilarious imo, it feels like a practical joke from the devs on the players.

It was a big thing in Halo 2 via Custom Games, so they made it a staple in 3.  It was a community thing at least in their case.
