Screen name sister!

Yes! And from a social progression stand point, how many times has western civilization made advancements because we woke up one morning and decided to downward dog our gratefulness in the pink glow of the rising sun? No. Anger is a tool that has the ability to push us forward.

Only for you!

Oh, it is an aggression. I have so many of that type on the periphery of my social circles. It’s all I can do not to tell them exactly how shallow and disgusting they are.

With you! I’m pretty damn cynical, though I think at my core it’s because I just want so much for everyone - and also to be left alone.

“For now, the women are using their aggressive positivity to float above the negative press”

I got an industrial sized box of Philadelphia cream cheese for xmas one year from an otherwise awful boyfriend. It was glorious, even though I was constipated for weeks after.

I’m with you on this. But I had a couple of friends growing up whose step-moms were more like the cool aunts who’d occasionally buy us Bartles & James.

Not sure why this is my impression, but I’m pretty sure this is a step-mother / step-daughter relationship.

That Saab is identical to the one I had for my first car. Obviously I have much for sympathy for the car than for Melania.

Aww! I had no idea this was the anniversary. My 8 year old is currently honked out in my bed next to a bowl of popcorn and Goblet of Fire still running on the tv.

Right?! I’m still waiting for my witchy powers to manifest. But there is so much more for our girls to aspire to beyond princess. It’s sick that we’re hung up on the medieval equivalent of winning the birthright Powerball.

Those are the best ways to play! The combination of background story and play acting - it’s like magic being a parent and getting to witness that. Especially doing that in nature. Swoon!

It’s unsettling actually. I suppose I can see it through the historical framework, i.e. the best a woman did was based on who she married - hence either being born a princess or somehow marrying a prince was the absolute highest she could rise. But the stubborn persistence of the princess narrative is kinda baffling

Your parents sound fantastic!

Subverting the narrative is fine. Though I found that posing questions to my daughter, even at a very young age, worked best to highlight the BS gender narratives. A simple: hey, ever noticed that the princes are always saving the princesses? Or a ‘can a princess ever just be happy without a prince?’ These always

Not only did he not write that, Trump couldn’t have written it if he tried. Hyperbole? Bravado?

We can’t be considered in other capacities. We’re only significant as daughters, mothers, sisters, wives.

I read something a few weeks ago (this will not be verbatim) that LA alone had lost $6 million in tourism thus far. I hate that it will take a few years to nail down the specifics, but Trump’s influence will likely cost well more, like multiples of the some 70,000 coal jobs he’s tried to save - so tiny in the scheme

Cheers! I’ve been trying to cut back, but just poured a glass of wine.
