This. Hickman’s the guy that they bring in when they mean business. Even when he started out at Marvel, his Secret Warriors arc went for years. Then he stuck with Fantastic Four for years. Then he basically redefined the entire line with his Avengers run.

A note to all of the “I don’t tip because it’s a broken system, and it won’t get fixed until we stop playing along” types:

Expecting to find a scholar in systems of government on a website about videogames and videogame culture is pretty smart.

if only someone had written a thousand pages on that topic

you’re a VERY VERY Small percentage of the population. if you don’t recognize that you need to get your head out of the clouds. not only are your number FAR FAR higher than most americans, doubling your wage in this time period is nigh impossible.

The model for modern gaming,(much like everything in america) is predatory.

Maybe you should actually learn what capitalism is, if all you can get is a “vague” idea of whatever the fuck..

*nod nod* Late stage capitalism is strangling everything. You just can’t grow forever. It isn’t possible.

Relative to profits, wages have been stagnant for about four decades. An anecdote about wages of a few individuals doesn’t change that.

Yeah, Joshua’s article seemed to be leaving out some key issues. Most glaringly was the outsized effect of the modern corporate structure and executive compensation.

took the words right out of my soul. The model for modern gaming,(much like everything in america) is predatory. Unfortunately with capitalism being the gospel that it is here everything is morally relative based on how profitable it is.

Arctic is burning. Amazon is being cut down at an incredible rate. Hurricanes are dropping more water as the climate changes. Unplanned Medical services can financial cripple a large chunk of Americans. Wages haven’t gone up in years. And I got an headache.

I think that is secondary, and this is chapo’s take and I fully agree.  It’s not about this president getting a ton of stuff done, it’s about laying the foundation so the next wave of dem socialists coming through have an easier time and the public is ready.  Part of what bernie has that no one else does is an army so

If whoever is elected doesn’t lead and support direction your take is 100 percent correct. Bernie is the only who knows none of this matters if there are no mass direct actions demanding changes for M4All, Green New Deal, taxing the rich. This is why I’m Bernie or bust. I believe he is the only one that understands

Populism has won the last three elections. The candidate who was perceived as the populist won in 2008, 2012 and 2016.

He’s not going to win the nomination and continuing to think he can or should win will only embitter him and his supporters to the inevitable result. And we know what that looks like in the end.

The people are moving left, the politicians are reluctantly following as usual. Hence the arrival of the “Trump Democrat” people who give lip service to fighting Trump, but have zero spin to do anything about him or his policies.

Add to that the fact that he will get none of the support from Gillibrand, Booker, Castro, Klobuchar, Hickenlooper, deBlasio, etc.,

As much as I agree that we need a serious reform of our system to a more socialistic one... I don’t think throwing his campaign into that lane makes a ton of sense.
