Nah, you aren’t alone. I thought the same thing. I don’t know what the production schedule was but I thought maybe she had to record her lines somewhere else due to covid or something like that. But she was “off” from how Lana has sounded in the past

I’m also glad we’re back in the real Archer Universe instead of Dreamland. And I like that Archer has to find a way to reintegrate himself into the team, which has actually become a cohesive one in his absence.

I mean, I didn’t even talk about the season where they all quit their spy jobs to become international cocaine dealers/country music stars.

I thought Aisha Tyler sounded worn out--not as a character, but as if her voice was genuinely different. Maybe I was imagining it, but she was the only one who didn’t sound completely like the same person. Still two solid outings for the show--I’m glad it’s back.

Looks like every restaurant sketch has just added three new waiters!

If you look closely, he kind of question-dodged there, actually. The question asked if removing episodes with blackface in them from streaming services was going too far, and he responded with saying that blackface is always bad, even if the intentions were good, although his Jimmy Fallon position implies that good

I don’t recall the episodes of those shows so I don’t know the context, but I recall a lot of episodes of “All in the Family,” which was chock full of racism, bigotry, and misogyny. I feel for Chris, being put in a position to denounce the tools used by the “All in the Family” writers and producers, and forced to

If you feel like your opinion isn’t important, why share it?

It’s amazing that if Jimmy Fallon had said that, he’d have been tarred and feathered. So he had to throw himself at the mercy of the court.

This continues the trend of black people being able to voice much calmer, more measured opinions about this stuff. In welcome contrast to the endless white guilt parade, and the resultant purges of things as dangerous as old sitcom episodes.

There’s a big difference between saying intention matters and saying only intention matters.

Is “look i’m chris rock lol” the same thing as “look i’m black lol” ?

I think enough of us can grasp nuance. It’s not exactly a mystery when someone does something in bad faith and says they didn’t mean any harm. We’re not going to start forgiving Nazis who said they were just following orders, are we?

That’s what I immediately thought when the whole furor went down.

Should they have done the blackface bits in the first place? IMO, no. It’s too loaded of a topic and can come off as insensitive even under the best of circumstances.

But media companies banning the episodes and flagellating themselves felt like PR

A lot of people want to say intention doesn’t matter, but it does.”

D’aww is someone upset about catch the big ol’ dimiss button long after developing a reputation for dismissing everyone who disagrees with the dumb shit you spout? I got your attention now at least.😂

Note: In 2016, South Park very clearly stated that the Turd Sandwich (Trump) was much, much worse.

“yet they continue to hang out with bigot like Cartman.”

Utter bullshit.

Aside from episodes in which they’re very intentionally taking the piss by having him be in the right, “Cartman is always wrong” is just about the closest thing this show has to a consistent moral compass.

I love both shows, and have watched every episode. Cartman seldom gets and win, and is usually humiliated in his comeuppance. The other characters openly state how much they hate him, and have since the beginning.
