I like the i3 as well but wish it had more electric only range. the EV versions are very low something like 60-80 miles.  and one issue with that car is that when things fail or when they get in fender benders they are very expensive and often totaled.  Friend of mine had an AC issue and that system also cools the

yeah not everyone road trips the same.  Do you have two cars or just a one car garage. with just a one car garage a 100 miles EV is likely not the best choice for you.  But if you have two cars in your household it would work well

did some calculations. the Hummer gets 47mpge combined but gets 53mpge city. 47mpge is 1.4 miles per kwh. one kwh from the US grid emits 0.85lb CO2. so the Hummer EV emits (if using the US grid average) 0.6lb CO2 per mile. A 15mpg truck emits 1.4lbs of CO2 per mile.

A honda accord emits 280g of C02 per mile (or 0.6lbs)

I had a long commute, 27 miles each way. with errands after work it was very rare that i traveled oveer 75 miles in a day. I dont think i ever hit 100 miles in a day. And i was putting 21-22k miles a year on the car.
Then if you were to couple that with a charging station at work i would not have ever traveled more

Its vastly vastly better for the environment and climate change than any gas powered truck on the market at any size.  It will replace the largest least efficient trucks out there and have more positive environmental impact than people trading in their accords for EVs.

An EV people claim is bad but is actually good is the Mini Cooper EV. People complain about the 110mi range yet the average american drives 50 miles a day and almost no one road trips in a mini cooper. they weigh around 3000lbs, do 0-60 in a respectable 6 seconds, and cost $30k. The reality is that most homes have one

These are likely some of the best.  Get climate change deniers out of their massive inefficient cars and unsuspectingly into cars that are much much better for the environment

The most cost effective say to get a good hot hatch with 300+hp is to get a used MK7 GTI and give it a tune. Just a tune and a 3100lb GTI has 310hp. intercooler, downpipe, tune and its around 330-345hp. And its one of the few FWD platforms that doesnt suffer from torque steer and can effectively put the power down

Miata Is Always The Answer

why not that looks great. hot hatch with box flare fenders yes please. btw official photos have leaked and its very close to this if those are accurate

battery technology will overcome these problems before a hydrogen infrastructure even starts its rollout.  Batteries are constantly getting more capacity and will get lighter and cheaper as well.  For the shipping industry it would be much much easier to have a battery swapping infrastructure than try to fuel trucking

Hydrogen is absolutely not the future and it is a technological dead end and a waste of money.  There are hundreds of reasons why but it mainly comes down to this when you look at it from 10,000ft.  In a hydrogen economy you are using green energy to make hydrogen to later turn back into electricity in the car.  You

all signs pointing to this being a great car. hopefully they make enough of them. 3cylinder turbo thats quite tunable, manual, AWD, boxflare fenders. it has my interest. will also likely look like this

hp / $ is a horrible metric to use. what you want is $ per lbs/hp
The emira is 3097 lbs with 400hp for $100k
A porsche Boxster S is 3125lbs with 350hp for $95k.

and no only that the emira is massively better looking
To have the same power to weight a mustang GT would need 495hp.  And it would still be heavier and handle

no big commute anymore but previously commuted almost 2 hours a day in a modified GTI manual with a heavy clutch and much prefer that to an auto.

yeah this is why i now work from home. even better than autonomous driving and being on your phone, is hanging out at home drinking coffee on the back porch

i mean i like driving so i disagree

they are always more fun just like using like driving is more fun than autonomous driving

why is more driving enjoyment ever overrated.  I have my first auto now and while it makes the car a better car it is boring

if they will give this the powertrain of the CX-60 plugin hybrid borrowed from the Toyota Rav-4 Prime then i will buy one
