I know its a tall order. its like asking people to be car enthusiasts and sadly those barely exist in the US.

Please make an electric wagon, and please everyone buy the electric wagon instead of an SUV
you said what i said with more words and less funny

wow sony designed a neat videogame car!
that post was fastenernating
So you regularly drive 200 miles in a day. So lets say 4 days a week and NO other driving at a min. over 5 years thats 204k miles. If you want a car that will not depreciate $10k over 204k miles or cost $10k in repairs, you need to buy a $10k corolla.
“He has up to $75,000 to spend on a luxury cruiser, but the tricky part is that he does not want to lose more than $10,000 in depreciation or maintenance over five years. What car should he buy?”
he needs to buy a $15k used honda or toyota economy car if he wants to target this operating cost over 5 years
the Tour X is heavy. it takes a lot more power to get its performance up. going with an alltrack or sport wagen and modifying it will give you a faster and cheaper car
This one is an is38 sportwagen with Golf R bumpers. I have a FB friend Chis Chee who swapped in the 2.0L with a hybrid turbo and has 500whp in his wagon now. this is his car. If we had a golf R wagon in the states it would be much cheaper to turn it into this
While stage2 tuned with 330hp i drove from houston to austin trying to get good mileage and managed 39mpg. And that was with sticky 245/35 summer tires
I assume you mean the newest generation is ugly because the prior gen is quite nice. (this one is a buddies thats actually a sportwagen converted to R since we dont get the R in the states)
I mean the tour X is fine an all but it weighs 3800lbs and has only 250hp. Thats the power to weight of a Golf R with 220hp.
If the TourX had the same power to weight ratio as a stock Golf R it would have 350hp. But the GolfR tunes way better than the buick too. Just a few small mods and the R is close to 400hp. …
do what i did, get a used alltrack and modify. you can do it for cheap and get a car with more power than a stock golf R. but yeah im with you would love to have the option to purchase this
yeah golf R 4dr DSG is 3370, and an alltrack AWD DSG with sunroof is 3395. So an R wagon is certainly no more than 100lbs more than a normal GolfR. Also the Alltrack has a spare tire and the R does not
I could afford the R but could not justify the price over the GTI. plus plaid interior and 3dr! the GTI got much much better mileage too which i wanted to have less environmental impact. I could regularly get 38mpg on a commute if i tried. And the GTI increased in power more through modding than the Golf R. Mine…
ah found a bugeye with one
I had a 2002 Bug eye sedan and i would have purchased the wagon if it had the box flare fenders. those were my favorite feature. wish the wagon had it.
For instance here is one with the box flare retrofitted
This is wrong Wagons are marginally more weight and a bunch more utility.
Golf R hatch is 17.4 cu-ft cargo. R wagon is 30+
Golf R wagon weighs about 50lbs more than the R hatch
To me the ideal wagon would be a GTI wagon with AWD. Price it between a GTI and Golf R say at $32k. Give it plaid interior and the red accents that come with the GTI. Since they didnt make this im making one myself. Bought an Alltrack with 25k miles on it for $16500 and swapped in the plaid interior and GTI…
