You’re not a very smart person are you?
You’re not a very smart person are you?
If it’s enough to have a visible effect on the market and consumers, it’s already too much.
Y’know, if Microsoft gives Vicarious Visions their name back and assigns them Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, I’ll still think this is a dangerous deal for the industry at large but I’ll at least be able to play another good Tony Hawk game.
While nothing’s final until it’s final, it now looks like Microsoft’s shocking acquisition of one of the biggest game publishers in the world is about to become a reality, and will soon have the potential to completely reshape the video gaming landscape in the process. Or maybe Xbox owners will just get a bunch more…
Oh thank God it’s almost over.
Yeah, I’m all for a stronger FTC that has the teeth to actually go after antitrust cases and so on, but this was not an example of a case they should have fought, the way they went about it looked like amateur hour. Don’t pick a fight with a giant unless you know you can win it. All it’s managed to do is make them…
What does consolidation have to do with the availability of physical products? If physical goes way, it’ll be because digital distribution has grown exponentially over the past 20 years and is quickly overshadowing physical distribution. That fact has nothing to do with consolidation.
let me give you an example even a simple minded brain worm infested dumbass like you can understand
…not.. at all. i’m so amazed by how brain rot filled everyone is on this topic. the ftc had no case to begin with. this is a vertical merger. because COMPANY BIG!! theres all this horrendously cringe concern trolling about this deal (a deal already approved in 40 countries with no issues)
so everybody who wanted to play Call of Duty on PC, played it. This proves that we should be allowed to yank Call of Duty from competing consoles, somehow.
I mean let’s all be serious, they did such a shit job it would have been cheaper to not do it at all. I’ve yet to see anyone call their strategy anything other than terrible. Even this site agrees it was bad. If you’re going to do your job, maybe don’t suck at it.
What are you talking about? The claim is correct that limiting the availability of games to specific stores or launchers has a demonstrable detrimental effect on sales. It’s not just battle.net and CoD, EA and Ubisoft also experienced fallen sales figures after making their games launcher exclusive.
Microsoft as a company, counting all its products and services, is larger than Sony. Nobody denied that. But Xbox is MUCH smaller than Playstation or Nintendo. All this does is give them an extra feather in their cap to compete with.
Gamers win big here, actually. ABK games will mostly be on multiple platforms, including numerous streaming providers.
Choosing which slimey corporation to back: slimey American or slimey Japanese one. USA! USA! USA!
Jim Ryan, is that you?
I believe they are referring to the video game market.
Nonsense.
Sony is still making more money than ActivisionBliz and microsoft combined currently. this deal makes microsoft the 3rd largest in the gaming market. blocking this merger is really just providing Sony an opportunity to solidify a monopoly they have been barreling towards since the xbox one flopped.
