One other thing. When I was 12 and already bigger than my mom as my dad’s side had curves and my mom’s didn’t. “I never kept weight on until I had you, I used to be a size four and look at me now.” She was a size 6/8. I was a size 10/12 depending on the day.
She denies she said either thing.

My senior year of high school, I messed up dying the hair I dyed every few months and had to shave it off. I called my mom at work to warn her. Her response? “I’ll love you , even if you ARE ugly.”
So it’s not the harshest thing in here by a long shot but it cracks me up to this day almost 20 years later.
