Not the OP, but I work for a small-ish mental health non-profit based in NYC. All our employees get a WFH stipend to offset our increased electricity, internet, etc. Staff have also been ok’d to order desks, office chairs, and the like as needed.

Now playing

Me too it is a fascinating look into the political power play that still permeates the Catholic Church and that they refuse to address despite losing members right and left. Dead on that they thought they could manipulate “Lenny” because he’s [relatively] young, but it turns out he is hyper conservative and more

Can someone explain the price on these shoes? $9-11? What are they made of, cardboard? I can’t imagine them lasting a few blocks of walking. Plus they are all pretty fug.

I know - I follow Beth Stern’s IG and have been so smitten with that little dolly cat! She looks like a plush toy <3 And she is training to be a pet therapy cat!

I have had so many issues with this series, but standouts:

Rice noodles are not going to help you is you can even find a ramen shop serving them as most soy sauces have gluten in it, tamari is a notable exception.

I take it you are not older than 25 - that is not what mid-40s looks like

#gothcat

yes it does! I like to call my cat a goth because she is and whenever I tag her photos as #gothcat naturally, all the goth of IG come out of the woodwork.

If you tell your dr you are traveling, they will write cipro as a prophylactic (this does not mean take in advance of sickness - only use if needed).

So, you are saying water is wet?

Not quite - that photo is there to stick it to his ex wife. They just finalized their very contentious divorce where she would not just take his money to leave quietly. As he is about to marry his mistress, he had the giant photo put up on his condo building development.

Please people, do not do this in a shared laundry room - no one wants to pay to dry their clothes in a dirty dryer.

Oh my, I knew the leotards were a bad idea, but I didn’t realize it was because they show off crotch and underboob sweat.

Also, JB is pretty limited in flight options - basically you can fly to either coast in the US, throughout the Caribbean, and a couple places in northern South America. eh, If you want to spend your summers off season at the beach, I guess...

I don’t know, yeah the set up was oddly phrased, but I the point of the post is that that somehow getting rewarded for your business is bad and it isn’t. We all get comped for our business in some way or another whether it is a free drink at the regular bar, to special coupons or free shipping/returns at store.

Well actually I pay for all my flights myself and don’t get to write them off either. 99.9% of my travel is for leisure, at most I have 1 flight for work every year or 2. I wish my company paid for me to travel. I live NYC and have access to choosing to fly with a multitude of carriers. For better or worse I’m all in

How is this comment being “better than everyone else?”

I have been an Executive Plat since past 10+ years. There must be a reason I choose to fly with only one airline. If there are no perks, do you think I will stick to the same airline or choose another one?

Yes - airlines aren’t just out to screw everyone over and most complainers are people who rarely fly. I am loyal to United (Continental pre-merger) and have been for 15 years. I spend a lot of money with them and I wouldn’t bother to keep loyalty (“elite” status) without the minor perks I receive such as “premium”
