Gameplay wise it was only a bit better than the previous year (2004 had an issue where certain players could never elevate a hit over the fence). 2005 was mainly superior for the franchise/owner modes that went deeper and featured more refined player progression (pitcher progression still had issues).

Admittedly, it's pretty bad that the best sports game ever for an XBox console is a 12 year old baseball game. Also, the last decent licensed baseball game for an XBox console.

That game had such a great soundtrack, which made it better than 'Paradise'.
