You totally need to watch the Lonely Island video then.

Look my eyes while he lay on you!
That entire video was a great example of how commitment can save even the weakest premise.
Yeah, honestly, we need more audacity like this.
There's all sorts of just-world rationales like that, but there's at least as much sexism in Hollywood as in the rest of society, and it's hard to deny a female-led big budget summer blockbuster must have been an uphill battle at some point in the pitching process.
White MEN. There are stories a plenty about studios getting jittery about women in lead roles of non-romcoms. Seems to happen every day.
Pretty sure this was a fourth wall moment.
Eh, I think B's pretty much "no, it is guys threatened by funny women". Political correctness is a shibboleth in a film industry that's still rife with sexism and has no problem putting white men at the center of everything.
Gotta say this is looking all right. I mean, there's no chance it's as good as the original, which was lightning in a bottle. But it looks fun, I'm amused by some of the dialogue, the aesthetic is cool. Better than the first trailer to be sure.
Ah, but you're forgetting the capricious nature of the imp that lives in Vince McMahon's head.
Superb episode- they did a really great job with all the teases and fake outs. I guess Lincoln is a bit of a cop out, but on the other hand, I'm not sure who else you could get rid of. (May, arguably, is the closest to the end of her arc but no way.)
Bigotry and laissez-faire business policies have been pretty closely entwined ever since the Southern Strategy was invented.
At this point I'm honestly kind of hoping this works out, because the movies she's been in for the past several years have looked SO awful that any actor who's toughed them out deserves some kind of steady gig.
She used it a few times in Agent Carter. It's pretty good, which is not surprising as she's half-American.
Well it's more of a sim, but I get the idea. The game doesn't really explain a lot of things very well.
It's a bit complicated- you want to have a decent variety of scenes, sets and actors that haven't been used too much recently (the "novelty" thing), good star power, stars who are a good fit for the genre, and a genre that people have interest in at that moment.
I love The Movies, and it was interesting to read that it was just ahead of its time (especially coming out before Youtube.) I would love for someone to take another crack at that premise.
" You know who I’m talking about: people who prefer style over substance; people who think every single piece of dialogue from Twin Peaks is a punch line; people with short attention spans who like their music videos to be 150 minutes long and end with the words “A Paul Thomas Anderson film.” "
It starts out kinda rough, and it has some familiar problems (the dialogue is WAY too on the nose) but from the start Benoist is just perfectly cast, and the rest of the show gradually rises to the bar she sets. It's got a real sweetness and charm to it.
There was some fun stuff here, but the Hawk people ruin everything, as usual. Kendra's decision was clearly a "wait we have three more episodes thing" and really brought the whole thing down.
