Not trying to argue against you but is there an actual law that states you can run/walk on the side of a street? Yes, I know it’s a safety hazard... Also, was this a road that had a solid white line on the side?

Well, mostly because cars don’t fit on sidewalks. You’re welcome to try and post the video on YouTube for our viewing pleasure.

Ah ok... I like the naked styling of the KTM Duke as well.

Oh F! It’s not a passenger train? Well, all good... I would’ve just loathed the fact that I’m sitting in my cubicle typing this rather than being on that train. I don’t have to feel so bad anymore.

Why is the Ninja 300 not in your choice list? Just curious... as it’s widely regarded as the best beginner bike for a long time except that it now has some stiff competition.

Well, in addition, he should’ve been wearing leathers and not jeans... he ended up with torn jeans and could’ve been much worse.

There is a reason for the importance of that hairpin. If you continue in the direction of that crashed rider (the road has an up-incline), it opens up to a straight - so, riders tend to accelerate too early to get a good exit. The road before is quite twisty and it’s one of your first chances to “open ‘er up”.

I have stood at the exact hairpin, on what’s “affectionately” called The Snake, to take pictures. That crash barrier sure deserve that title... but still, I always get great pictures, especially when Hollywood stuntmen turn up.

AFAIK, Hubble isn’t high enough (or far enough from terra firma) with its FoV to be able to take a single snapshot of the entire sphere of Earth. IIRC, you have to be on a trajectory moving away from Earth to attempt it (and it was a quarter of the distance to the Moon which is the earliest point when you can image

This technique works really well! I started doing this first for cauliflower that I prechop and store in the fridge... microwaving helps soften them up and then I started doing it for potatoes.

Trump would like it... the building’s name plate already seems to have Gold color on it.

Just copy Recaro and their super-thin seats which are actually on use in regular cars

No, his point is valid. The tiltable screens of today tilt because there’s a hinge between the screen & the seat back and that works because the seat back & the screen are separate components. From the concept picture by Thales, the screen seems to be embedded into the seat back. There doesn’t seem to be any clearance

The current screens are only touch-screen in concept... practically, they’re hit-screens.

Sad to lose both of them and it hurts me to say this but the correct side won in the end and this was the right call.

Since this comment thread has both bikers & car guys, I’d like to point out something I realized this weekend while driving through the 101 in LA at “late dusk”. Bikers need to get some damn headlights and stop acting so elitist...

As with another incident a few months back on this blog, both are at fault. You could argue that the car guy was more at fault but that’s just arguing the extent of wrongdoing. Both need to get stiff reprimands... maybe burn the license of the car and put the bike guy on extended real-world bike training. Both are

I had some trouble with this initially. There are 2 things to keep in mind: (1) the resolution of the phone means you won’t get a clear image as you see on a TV but when you can pretty much make out individual pixels, you’re in the focusing sweet spot, and (2) with wide-angle pictures or even 360deg views, the sides

I kinda have to agree with your opinion. For a few months last year, I was on Samsung’s Ultimate Test Drive program and got Android phones on 1 month trials. When I began the program, I bought a Gear VR (coincidentally, it was released on Amazon the day my first test phone arrived). I really really loved it! It worked

I’m guessing it’s a closed road but what would they do if they saw a vehicle coming the other way... that’s probably why dashcams were made.
