The worst thing about it is Luke Smith used to be a video game journalist. There has to be a part of him that died inside.

Neverwinter just gave me a free ridable horse.

I felt just like you, but I haven’t gone back to House of Wolves (even though it was part of my collectors edition). I tried - but it was like trying to go back to a bad relationship.

Not the problem as he said he doesnt mind the 40. It's the other things that have Been going on which has build up.

But the article was kind of more focusing pass the 40. Bucks. The fact their so many other things that has happen. Which feel only been half address or ignore

No, I think it would be great to buy them individually, but then the game would immediately be labeled a micro-transaction game and I’m pretty sure Bungie doesn’t want that... otherwise they would already have done it. My question is, if they had set the collector’s edition price at $80 WITHOUT including the first 2

The issue with the $80 collectors edition is that it comes with the first two DLC that most players that have played the game since launch already have. Those players do not want to re-buy content they already have to get the collector edition digital exclusives like the emotes. What those players want, myself

You just said Destiny isn’t an MMO, then used an MMO to compare it to. Spending $100 on a game you’ve sunk (most likely) hundreds and hundreds of hours into doesn’t seem ridiculous to me.

That’s true about most MMOs these days. But don’t most online console shooters require a subscription to that console’s service?

Ok, I think I understand better. Especially the part about recycled content. That would be pretty infuriating.

Yes you are missing something: This isn’t an MMO. The most people in once place I’ve ever seen was ten. Seriously, don’t mislabel it.

Very few MMOs charge a monthly fee anymore. So much so that they’re very much the exception to the rule. However, Destiny requires a monthly sub to XBLGold to play anything more than solo stories on MS consoles; not sure about PS+.

Why not? Because it has instanced content?

Let’s not compare apples and carrot. Destiny is not really a “MMO”.

I think more Destiny plays need to be reminded that they don’t pay a monthly fee like actual MMOs, and buying new content that comes out is not exactly a horrible thing for a company to ask. Do you guys really expect content for free? The prices of the expansions seem reasonable, the game doesn’t even have

Could have written your comment myself. It sounds ridiculous, but I’ve never had a relationship with a game like the one I have with Destiny. I might play a game and love it and play it a zillion times, consuming any expanded universe stuff (movies, books, etc). I might play a game and hate it and regret the money I

yeah I saw this (also in the Uk) I am fairly fucking annoyed by the whole thing, I only got into Destiny a couple of months back, granted I paid £20 for the game, I then spent a further £40 on the DLC. Now I am to spend another £40 on probably not a great deal of content, because lets be honest the first two DLC packs

Yeah, I bought the game at launch, but after holding out hope for matchmaking in Raids (which, as -Silver- mentions above, I don’t have much time for), I also saw the writing on the wall that you’ve referenced.

I kind of saw the writing on the wall with this game from the start, and I decided never to buy into it. It was an incomplete game to begin with, and you have to keep paying in order to get the new content—which only makes it a slightly less incomplete game.

$40 for one new explorable location, when the base game shipped with four locations at $60 and even that was considered underwhelming.
