I *just* repaired my TCL/Roku TV by ordering an OEM replacement motherboard from flea bay. I spent $30 instead of $200 for a new TV. HOWEVER, I needed a lifetime of desktop PC building experience + a lot of research to be able to figure out how to do it.  It *can* be done, but it is not easy.

I find this whole thing to be somewhat ludicrous and at the same time hilarious. No one points out that this “subscription model” is basically the way that things started with telephones (like, the land line ones). You didn’t own your phone, you basically rented it. Same thing with Cable boxes.

They can also replace LEDs, though the cost of doing so is almost the same as just replacing the tv.

That’s fair. It’s just that a lot of people in the fandom, even all these years later, talk about it like they were personally strapped to a chair and bombarded with it Clockwork Orange-style. That’s more what I was referring to.

That CSI episode was absolute garbage because of the way it depicts the furry community. I’m not saying that there aren’t fringe circles that dress up in suits and have yiff orgies but I think it’s safe to say that most range from roleplaying, suiting up for conventions or just have an appreciation for stories and art

I will say there’ve been a lot of entry points for folks to wander into the fandom these past few years, between Zootopia, various anime on Netflix, and stuff like that. I mean, you’re probably gonna get a few folks for whom this’ll be the gateway drug.

Like I told you after I read your latest draft, insisting on casting Donald Trump, Jr. in the lead role is going to severely limit your casting choices.

I haven’t seen that, but the Ebert review makes it sound interesting, and raises some of those points.

And that executive needs a raise.

So *this* is what they cancelled Bojack for.

It amazes me that even though I was in Pittsburgh off and on thoughout the entire 1990's, and lived there from 2000-’05, and went to -a lot- of shows, I never once saw the Clarks. In all honesty, I had completely forgotten about them. I stopped listening to WDVE by 2001 except to listen to Pens games when at work. The

I don’t really understand the necessity of this. I'm gay but I find the lack of straight men to form close friendships to be problematic. It potentially teaches that there's no such thing as good friends because it would mean they're gay - when they aren't. I don't care if anyone wants to consider this in their heads

Now that’s an adorable take on the Cena Taiwan debacle.

I didn’t really see them that way -- they didn’t have a “Dog Pentagon” or “Dog Hitler” the way the snake people had theirs. On the other hand, I can see a comparison with the cat people that had a Purge civilization though.

I don’t know that I agree with this. Morty’s motivation for wanting her is that he’s a dumb kid who wants to have sex with the hottest girl in school. He doesn’t like her because she’s been shown to be smart or kind, or funny. He likes her because she’s hot an he’s a teen boy. That’s pretty much the depth of Morty’s

Mainly because Jessica has been the primary driver and motivation for a lot of what Morty does and wants. He destroyed his home/native dimension/planet because of her. If they’re gonna make her such an important character and symbol for the Morty, at least give her some character and personality.

Nintendo is litigious but there is literally no legal leg to stand on here. We have precedent. Nintendo has not gone after things like Zelda and Super Metroid Randomizers, Kaizo Mario or the Mother 3 Translation patch. Nintendo does like to shut things down but they CAN’T go after things like this.

Rick’s greatest nemesis is Rick himself. How the show did not actually come to that conclusion is shocking.

I lament that the show just lacks any interest in having any sense of character progression but doesn’t seem to mind baiting the audience with it. I still like the show but the show’s brand of nihilism makes it hard for these characters to actually grow. And that’d be fine if the show was more like Solar Opposites or
