And Fury’s whole deal was always keeping tabs on everyone/everything. His whole value is “is aware of things,” so it makes the least sense for him to be oblivious.
Not yet, please — I’m still alive.
Hawkeye and War Machine are still alive and on Earth last we saw.
Poor Hawkeye and War Machine get no love.
Yeah the street level guys like Daredevil amd Spider-man would have a lot of these stories back in the 90's. It's died off as the cross over and yearly events have become more common.
My favorite Spider-man story where he gets absolutely destroyed by a unintrested Juggernaut starts this way.
In Fury’s defense, he was blipped away. All this SWORD shit happened while he was gone, and he’s starting his intelligence network from scratch.
Yeah, someone got it in their head that because T&J is one of the hits of early animation, it’s up there with Bugs Bunny and the greats but it’s just not. At this point I can only way I see Tom & Jerry being relevant is to kids at art school studying animation.
Yeah, but it’s really great Big Band Music, Bogira! It was Hanna-Barbera back when all they had to do was write and direct cartoons, and they had the time to do them up properly.
Yep so many issues have a global threat and a lower strength solo hero like Spider-Man tries to call the FF or Avengers and gets message or Jarvis indicating they aren’t available. It’s a consistent trope in the comics.
The “blockiness” of her house as it was forming seemed like a direct callback to the House of M.
T&J was the last “classic” cartoon to air on CN proper, even right up until TTG took over, so that’s something.
I don’t think the Avengers are a thing anymore. Tony and Natasha are dead, Cap’s old, Thor and Captain Marvel are in space, Hulk is a hippie professor...who’s left that was actually an official Avenger? Falcon, I think? What’s he gonna do, fly into Westview and turn into a wacky sitcom bird guy?
I rewatched some old Sealab 2021s the other night and ten minutes or so is exactly what’s needed for those stories (which also rely on a fair amount of cartoon violence). I love violence as much as the next person but I think it can only go on for so long in one story before it gets a bit old — you need to mix things…
90m is what I’m suggesting, though - just with a different balance of action to plot.
I think the problem is largely related to the process of how movies get made in the industry pipeline. When you make a movie, you have writers. The writers need something to do. It’s the same reason many videogames that only need the barest of plots have convoluted stories and more characters then they need. To make a …
Blech. So many writers have done so many hatchet jobs on Wanda it’s a wonder there are even any hatchets left. This type of weird quasi-fetish material is so ugly and degrading.
Elizabeth Olsen for all the awards. What a showcase for her talents this has been.
She’s only 24. She could still do a lot, but it’s also a reminder that many child stars who seem like they are going to be big stars, don’t get there when they are adults.
