I have historically HATED this film. I hate everything about it, I always sided with Grodin because by all accounts, he’s right, Clifford is a terrible little asshole and has no redeeming qualities. It’s kind of how I feel Martin Short is as a human being, that he’s really that big of an asshole when the camera shuts…

I had to double check, Grodin is still alive. I get the effect he has on folks but he’s such annoying man apparently off-screen as well that I always wondered of his true appeal beyond playing that guy...

To be fair, superhero movies that are edging into 3 hours are usually scaled down versions of 120+ issues of comics spread across usually a year or more and a dozen different titles. To make a coherent film they basically need to crush what would be a 600 page script into closer to 180 pages and even that’s skimping…

Exactly and treating it like a regulated fucking utility is the right answer. Of course that makes it largely unprofitable for big bank rollers like Comcast. I’m not 100% sure on this but I think R.L. Stine has repeatedly come out as a pretty solid guy? I believe he’s made public comments in support of progressive views on a few occasions.

This of course presumes that the next administration keeps avoiding declaring that internet is an utility and treats it as such.  Which is really comcast and the other cable providers biggest fear.

HBO Max has been pushing it as original content and it’s news it was supposed to be on TBS due out 3+ years ago.  Right now, I’m going with a ‘wait and see’ attitude since it seems likely it won’t unless HBO Max sees stellar ratings and they think they can pump out animation as the sole option for the forseeable…

It’s pretty iconic...It’s no Ecstasy of Gold but to think it wasn’t NOMINATED is insane. I would put these two at the very top of classic music scores and to think it wasn’t even put up is insane.
