Amazon seems strangely conflicted about whether or not they give a shit about Prime Video. They have some true gems in there, a lot of garbage, and a lot of stuff that would have been in the 99 cent bin at Blockbuster once upon a time.

Most theaters don’t give a shit about showing small films because there’s no money to be made in them. Even rep theaters throw in a screening of ‘The Rock’ or somesuch blather every now and again so everyone on staff can get paid. I must’ve missed this magical time of independent cinema where theaters were packed…

The problem is one that the Food Network illustrated years ago. Someplace draws attention due to a “celebrity” mentioning it. For a brief time, they get a flood of customers wanting to check out why the place is famous, and the regulars can’t get in.
