I can genuinely say I’ve never even thought about Alison Janney in a role like this but, honestly, now that I think about it... I’m not sure why I’ve never thought about her in a role like this. It somehow just makes sense in my head.
Spent two weeks in S Korea last month. Several people there told me they wanted to visit America but were scared of getting shot. One other asked me if I had ever been shot. No sarcasm or irony in asking. This is how we are seen by the rest of the world.
And Bix says “Oh God”.
Rogue One was a mess on a tonal and construction level, an example of a Star Wars property afraid to go really, truly dark and morally dubious...
OK, see, now you’ve got me imagining the bathroom in the Millenium Falcon. I will be skipping lunch.
I’m aware there have been Scottish Star Wars actors, just not as many accents. It’s nice to know there’s a Celtic region somewhere nearby, apparently.

This show is so good that all the self-proclaimed biggest Star Wars fans are going to hate it. And it’s going to be beautiful.
Ewan MacGregor is even Denis Lawson’s nephew!
I enjoyed it more than I expected. It didn’t rely on an overuse of callbacks, easter eggs, nor pandering while still managing to keep all the trappings of Star Wars.
I had to laugh at Karn’s earnestness mixed with utter incompetence. Your boss directly orders you to ‘drop it’ and instead you bank a ton of overtime…
I find your faith in slideshows disturbing.
There have been plenty of Scots in Star Wars. From Denis Lawson (Wedge Antilles) to Michael Sheard (Admiral Ozzel) to the obvious Ian McDiarmid (Sheev Palpatine) in the OG trilogy, Ewan MacGregor (Young Ben), Lewis MacLeod (voice of Sebulba) and Ray Park (Darth Maul) in the prequel trilogy and Emun Elliot (Taslin…
I absolutely love the dude in the bell tower hammering away at that sonorous anvil-thingie. I want that guy’s job.
So it looks like we are finally going back into old Expanded Universe (EU).
