In terms of marketing and awareness BlerDCon had plenty of hype among the cosplayers I hang out with here in the DC area and so far as I could see everyone felt welcomed.  I did see a greater turnout of black nerds here than I’ve seen at Dragon Con, Awesome Con and Anime USA but that was a wonderful thing because

It’s an amazing event.  I wasn’t able to go last year due to moving states but this year I hit it up on Friday and Saturday and loved it.  Next year I’m getting a room at the hotel so I don’t have to commute in each day.

You’re welcome.  Enjoy.

I was the same. Loved The Raid when it came out but for some reason never got around to seeing 2 until Monday night. Yes, it’s worth checking out. The longer run-time might be why reviews are mixed but they open up the world and expand on the characters as a result.

*crickets*

David Harewood is still part of the cast for next season until we hear otherwise. Jeremy’s recurring and Chris Wood and Odette Annable are off of the show until further notice.

Yep. That’s how it is here in the DC/Va/Md area. We have talented photographers and cosplayers who work together and no money is exchanged. TFP is a good system.

Yep, pre-built is a good option right now. Kotaku’s Cecilia D’Anastasio picked this one up last year and I did a short time later as well after comparing parts on PCPartPicker.com

I caught that and yes she actually did shoot someone point blank in the face. It was all very John Wick and by that I mean GOOD.

Yep, no worries. Knew that one from the moment I learned about the theory-which-is-likely-to-be-true as every cast member, including Isaacs and Latif, dodges this question in interviews.

Hate to admit it but, yeah, looks like this will be the case. It ties in perfectly with L’Rell’s comments to Voq about “sacrificing everything” in order to move forward.

io9's reviewer for Discovery speculated weeks ago that Tyler is just Voq after undergoing surgery to remove his Klingon ridges and has false human memories. I *HOPE* she’s wrong about that completely.

This comment needs more stars.

I see public registration open right now (12:11 pm EST) but can’t get the image verification/captcha to load properly before registering. Is anyone else having this issue?

Over on io9, it’s been suggested that Ash Tyler is Voq and that he’s a Klingon plant. It’s a LONG shot but the actor who played Ash Tyler is credited in the first 4 episodes of Discovery but doesn’t show up till the 5th. Coincidence? Remember L’Rell’s suggestion to Voq about how he has to give up everything in order

That’s been my understanding about soccer in the USA. I think with the way the game’s structured you don’t have a lot of advertisers and very few commercials. So that’s at least one reason it’s not popular here. The rest, as many others have said in this article and down below, comes down to cultural reasons.

Yep! That’s the one. I see now that the site isn’t up to date but all those years ago it was one of my daily sites to check out.

I thought that was more of Corona’s Coming Attractions that did that? It’s also, unfortunately, how I had Fight Club and The Usual Suspects accidentally ruined for me by reading the film development updates.

Longtime reader of that site. Garth and his team have been wonderful for film and TV news these past 20 years. Glad you discovered the site!
