Yep. The gore in Temple of Doom led to a LOT of unhappy parents and so Spielberg suggested PG-13 as a new film rating. Thinking back to that time period, PG got away with a lot (Splash, Sheena, etc) and those films would probably be PG-13 or R for the nudity alone.
