2012 here. I think it was electrical issue. But I won't turn down a whole new rear end for free.

The whole rear axle was replaced on mine at 50k. Fully covered under warranty.

I have a crf250l and agree totally with the suspension. It's a little heavy to really attack a trail at speed. I do not think that was Honda's intent though. Just need a middleweight now. The CRF250l is a decent base for a small adventure bike. Now we have this big guy coming. I (and many others) would love to see the cb500 motor in a capable platform.
