Fair enough. I’ll rephrase to say other than judges there’s nothing he’s done that can’t be undone almost immediately. That’s a lot but he’s still mostly an unproductive waste. He’s more bad than destructive.

Counterpoint:
A few years ago I took my Jeep GC to this location for some serious engine work, and the experience made me decide to never buy any brand on their lot. Mine was under warranty, but nothing smelled right about what they diagnosed, how long they kept my car or why it needed to go back a week later for more work.
Man, I’m with you. I still play once a week (down from 3/ when I was young) in a game that’s been going on almost 20 years (I’m 52). I can’t remember a time I ever went close to 3 months without a game, and that goes back to the 80s. I love the competition, contact and shit talking that goes on during games. At my age…
I’m beginning to wonder if there’s any car in any junkyard that you can’t find a reason to be obsessed about.
Architect here. I can’t tell you how many single family houses & renovations I’ve designed where the owner goes on and on about how he (always the ‘he’) can’t wait to do the demo. I just tell them ‘Great, and let me know how that goes’, because I’m never there for that part. 30 minutes into the day I get an email or…
Man, I had a 2014 GC and the cylinder head cracked on the thing with 48,000 miles on it. Luckily, a buddy had convinced me to extend the warranty (something I’ve never done) because they were so cheap. Within 3 days of getting it back the check engine light came back on and I had to take it back to replace all the…
Not exactly the same, but the dad and I just got a ‘69 Impala back from restoration and we love that one. Of course we’re a long way from then.
I’m old enough to remember these as a kid. I thought they were goofy then (saying something for the late 70s), and still seems to be that way. I’d only buy one for the conversation factor but it would have to be SUPER-cheap. Still a cool bit of time capsule nostalgia.
I bought a new car this spring and the sales manager at the dealership (not Alfa) was also the manager at their Alfa dealership here in LA. We chatted about the Stelvio while I was waiting for delivery and I mentioned how poor the reviews of the car’s dependability were and his response was ‘people don’t buy them…
I just bought the V90 CC this spring and wouldn’t trade it for an Audi if they took $20K off the price. I don’t trust Audi can make a car that’s reliable past 75K miles. Plus, they look like Volkswagens. Nothing wrong with that, but if I wanted that I’d just buy the VW.
That’s how we are too. Love everyone involved but the show is super-meh! Nothing there really worth the time to watch.
Started reading the article and immediately became sadly disappointed because I just bought the Volvo V90 CC in April. Then I read the price and am happy again.
This is absolutely 100% true. We stopped flying Alaska completely from anywhere in the country just because we live in LA and their service there is 3rd world at LAX. Never again. I’d almost rather take Greyhound than fly Alaska.
You put Wings and Billy Joel over AC/DC? JFC on the cross.
She was a goddamned treasure. I loved the band from the beginning and she will be missed. Shit.
I got the CC back in April and LOVE the car. My first Volvo and it’s a great car. Fun to drive, looks great and I love the interior. My only thing is that I’m a little on the tall side (6'1") and the roof is a little low when I’m getting out. Otherwise, I can’t drive it enough.
Came here to say this. The original soundtrack is great. The remixed album is perfection. I listened to that for months when it came out.
Man, I would LOVE to have that Golden Eagle. That thing is sweet and beautiful.
Dude, c’mon. You are definitely not doing something right. I just bought a new V90 Cross Country 3 months ago and have not had any of those crazy experiences with the braking. It seems to work fine and I haven’t even adjusted anything.
