The White Sox are truly the team of REAL Chicagoans, since they’ll play in this cold and snow, whereas those dainty Northsiders had to cancel their game.

You assume Trump gives a shit. He doesn’t. They are simply a talking point for him. “MEXICO BAD, TRUMP GOOD!”
“You may have given birth to his children, but he discreetly paid for my abortion”
“...and can mix an excellent, and very strong, martini...”
Even a downright “bad” Twilight Zone usually turns out to be an interesting glimpse into the fears of a generation, or an influence to a better contemporary reimagining. This particular episode doesn’t do much for me, but the whole point of an anthology should be to take some risks and win or lose big.
This is in the top 5 of all-time great TZ episodes. I don’t mind it becoming “treacly” because it comes by it honestly (in fact, I’d argue that the treacly bit is essential to the point of the episode).
“I didn’t wanna get blood on your floor.”
I just went to the official site for this movie and they are playing the chorus from Atlantis by Donovan over and over. While that’s certainly fitting, it’s also kind of inappropriate to the person who died.
Vote Quimby!
The Twins batter would have politely bunted directly into the shift and stood at home plate not attempting to advance to first while the Orioles completed the force out. Because that’s the unwritten rule!
Ya know, at the start of the game, BOTH pitchers are working on perfect games. It really is rude of any batter to try to get a hit in that situation.
STOP TRYING WHEN YOU’RE LOSING. WTF man?
Piss-poor performance plagues Urena
There have been over 210,000 games played in 140 years of MLB. Almost everything has happened before.
Lemieux is the analog here. Generational talent on a terrible team for the first six or seven years of his career, putting up astounding stats and getting unfairly underrated in the Hart race. Lemieux’s Hart loss in 1989 is particularly absurd.
Citizen Kane effect. Groundbreaking when it comes out, then tons of movies ape it, to the point where in retrospect it doesn’t seem so special.
It sucks when teams with asshole fans have such likable players. Really puts you in a tough spot.
The Avengers may have dated because there have been so many of these movies by now, so I can understand someone watching it for the first time recently thinking its no big deal. But when it came out there had never been a superhero movie quite like it.
He was born to be wild.
