Carano/Fassbender is one of my favorite fight scenes in the last ten years or so. I love how it (and most of the fights/chases in the movie) really show them tiring and getting desperate as time passes. There’s weight behind their punches, but also weight and strain in their legs as they pick themselves up off the

My daily commute takes me through the heart of Wrigleyville. 81+ days a year, my love of baseball (and the Cubs) is severely tested by the throngs of Cub fans.

That’s a bit different, but let’s be clear: I would eat the shit out of that, too.

No, although I got nothing against that. I’m referring to a round, thin crust pizza cut into not-exactly-perfect squares, resulting in a little triangle bite-sized slice in each “corner” of the pie.

The lakefront path is stunning, but if you’re going to ride a bike there, stay away on the weekends. It’s a mob of pedestrians, strollers, rollerbladers, Divys, skateboarders, dog-walkers, and joggers; most of whom are wearing headphones so they can’t hear you coming up behind them. Everyone has a right to the path,

The deep dish pizza here is second to none, but you’re right: it’s a rarity for most residents. I think it’s because deep dish is such a massive, dense meal that you feel like it’s worth sitting down and settling into your chair for the next hour-plus; while thin(ner) crust pizza has a much more casual, “grab a slice*

Did the world ever learn what he said to Erin Andrews? In 2008, his weird comment (almost certainly a come-on) was treated as a fleeting joke. Today, I feel like it would have required multiple articles and a non-apology press conference.

There’s a joke to be made about not tipping if you get the wrong order, and throwing a home run ball back if it was hit by the visiting team, but I can’t get the bat off my shoulder...

As a fellow old who has to sleep at a reasonable hour, I highly recommend checking out a WK show next time he’s in town. I went to a midnight show of his a few years ago (I think it was a post-Riot Fest performance,) and had a blast, even though I didn’t have anything to drink and 25% of my brain power was dedicated

I’ve never been a big fan of live shows, a trait that has ossified as I’ve grown older, but I will still happily go see Andrew WK live every two years or so until one of us dies.

Headline of the year.

I was a Scotch & Soda guy myself. I had scrawny hands that betrayed too much light when manipulating cards, so coins were much easier to work with.

A show (or maybe a movie) about the fleeting and fickle world of internet famebis an interesting subject. Even a simple "where are they now" type documentary could be insightful and entertaining.

So does a big shit, so that's hardly a good judge of quality.

"For some of us, games never got better than Goldeneye"

We were there in February, maybe ten days after the inauguration. My girlfriend had just come back from the march in DC, we were both having a tough time accepting the reality of our new President, and figured Disneyland was an ideal place to escape the trappings of real life, even if only for a day.

Probably not, but like the source book, it could make a nice companion piece to the original film.

Wonder Woman struck me as a movie that should/could have been much better, like Pixar's more notable films that appeal to more than just a narrow demographic. A lot of this review focuses on Cars 3's inability to do the same.

Replace the names and specific plot details, and this could serve as my review of Wonder Woman.

Yeah, everyone had a good time, and I'm sure the administration knew a rock band of some kind would be performing, but considering the band was called "The Cramps," and their signature style was to turn every lyric (be it their own or from classic rock/country) from "suggestive" to "filthy filthy down-n-dirty
