Well I feel like i have to escape the US soon, so maybe I’ll consider mouseless France. :)

ALso... did this article get reposted recently or something? It’s from 4 years ago and I’ve had a lot of traction on this comment the past 3 days....

I like a lot of things about Tesla, but the interior design (mostly the fact that everything is touchscreen-based), along with reliability concerns, is enough for me to not want to buy one.  This isn’t just “I’m older and like my buttons the way they used to be!”  Touch screen controls for things you need to do while

You’re rightfully getting shit on. Traffic always sucks. I got a DSG because I thought I could live without a manual, and it’s much worse driving that stupid thing in traffic than a manual. Never again (which likely means I’ll never buy a new car again, but whatever)

I mean, why would you not disconnect the battery anyway, “just in case”?  Even in an Audi it’s not difficult....

I give him kudos for not running over the assholes giving commentary.

I mean.... letting the people who profit decide how we deal with ecological problems has not worked out very well so far.

Again... I’m usually not one to crow about speeding here.  I drive a fast-ish car, I know how easy it is to pass 90 if you pass someone on the highway.  Twice that?  Sorry, the line is somewhere well before that.  And the highway was sparse, likely not empty.  180mph is well beyond reasonable.

How is this not reckless driving and suspended license?

While the over the top hysteria on this site every time someone mentions speeding is usually laughable, 180 is actually reckless, and I have no doubt this person will be severely punished for this.

From an engineering standpoint, in addition to getting the flip-out mechanism to “work”, you’d also have a LOT of trouble with rigidity here I think. When in “SUV” mode making it so the back doesn’t flex would be difficult.

Dude owns a new Tesla, if he’s in a “broker phase” of his life, he’s even more irresponsible, not less.

IT’s insane to go on such a long road trip without any emergency payment method.  What if his phone died or got broken?  Or Internet connectivity went down?  Insane.

Ding ding ding. This is bullshit posturing for clicks, and accomplishing the exact opposite of what they claim to care about.  Totally disingenuous article.

A lot of them think this whole disease / outbreak is just a way to get more people taking more vaccines.  Can’t fight crazy.

Where’s “here”? Traffic is definitely lighter in the Boston area this week even as money people were still at work, and with schools cancelling it’s likely to be significantly more so next week.

Yeah that's quite a few orders of magnitude. The internet tells me that some estimates put the number of grains of sand at 7.5x10^18.

the White House, which, for some reason, has been relocated to Buffalo.

Tires jumped out at me too.  For all highway miles it feels like they should last much longer.

Oh man is that “when it’s working correctly” an important caveat. I’ve tried to use Waze so many times, and it just has so many things that cause it to completely shit the bed that it’s unusable as a daily thing for me. If I try to start a trip in a place where I don’t have good GPS coverage (the parking garage at

Eh if you lock them up they just inevitably get lost in a boating accident.
