The funny thing is this dealership could have gotten a lot of points for fighting to get this fixed under warranty despite our warranty being out, but they’ve been so rude and dismissive to my wife that any good will they would have built up is just gone.

I mean, it was a brand new car so we didn’t really check the oil level... ever?... but you’d think if it was low enough to do damage the light would come on.

Meaningless anecdotal backup here, but my wife’s ‘16 Impreza just went into the shop for a taillight switch recall, and the shop insisted that the engine was making a horrible noise (given that Subaru engines aren’t the quietest things, I have yet to hear what they supposedly heard) and would need to be replaced.  A

A couple of gas station brands (Shell and Mobil in particular) have an app you can use so you don’t need to directly apply payment to the pump at all. Just another option.

Aw was he?

I say “this is the largest car that I can afford” more than seems reasonable.

Obviously it’s great that he did this, but this is getting a LOT of publicity for a thousand bucks when the guy won literally millions.

Something being “open source” doesn’t make it more vulnerable to leaking, unless I’m misunderstanding your meaning there.

5-year flashback on that comment!

So many of the app-based solutions, the ease is more in the “I already have my phone on me all the time” than the actual task becoming easier.  For shopping lists, I forget the list at home AT LEAST half the time if it’s on paper; if it was on my phone, I’d never forget.  But it’s way easier to use a paper list.

If you type incorrectly, you are eaten by grues.

This guy makes his bed.

Not really relevant. They’re making money, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. They make a thing that people buy for more than they spent to build it. Uber essentially pays people to use their service.

Ghost waiting for Jon to come get him...

As someone who has moved more to the left as he got older, it really stuns me how badly the left misunderstands the voting public. Not that I condone the manipulation that is part of our political world, but pretty much every liberal arts major I know who majored in psychology is a Democrat, and yet somehow just have

Obviously  you’re not alone in this, as the trend has been “open” for a while now, but it’s not for everyone, and a lot of people don’t care for it (myself included)

Since BMW owns Mini, I don’t really expect that to be the case here. It’s more likely they’ll do the BMW thing where the “base”model is priced about in line with the competition, but they’ll charge 2 grand if you want a steering wheel, or tires, included.

Also remember to jump when the left turn arrow turns green but your lane stays red, and then be too far into the intersection, briefly toy with reversing, and make the person behind you panic that you’re going to reverse right into them (or forget you’re in reverse when you try to go).

Possibly stupid question -- do tires outside of the US still use the same measurement system?  I have to imagine a “19 inch rim” is purely an American thing but sometimes things bleed over.

I have to admit that I have back issues so I tend to drive in a slightly more reclined position, but I shall correct this.
