To everyone who sleeps with an SO — get a second blanket / comforter. Sharing space in the bed is something you can work out, but sharing blankets is ALWAYS an issue. My wife and I got a second blanket for our bed for the winter and it’s been a GAME-CHANGER.

Why are you taking this so personally? Do you work for Toyota or did you just buy one and are trying to justify your purchase?

I think they’re generally fine vehicles with no “soul.” I haven’t driven either a Camry or Rav4 in a few years but I imagine they perform “fine.” Putting in a throaty growl and showing it carving up a mountain pass is disingenuous unless there has been a huge phase shift in their design, though.

It kills me that Toyota’s most recent marketing campaign is all about showing the Camry with fake engine noise and touting it as a sporty vehicle. Is anyone buying a Camry for performance????

Interesting. I became aware of the model well after they were apparently introduced in the United States.

We’re similar in age, and I think there’s a perfect storm of looking back ten years ago and not only realizing the world allowed us to be bigger assholes, but also that we were at an age where we were most inclined to be thoughtless assholes (well... maybe 15 years ago).

Understood. While Chekov’s gun is designed as a rule to abide by, sometimes unnecessary details enhance the realism of a scene even if they are not crucial to the plot. There’s for sure a balance to be struck.

Regarding parking, how much of a movie or TV show’s runtime would you like dedicated to watching someone hunt fora parking spot when it’s not relevant to the plot? Even things like buckling seat belts tends to fall under Chekhov’s Gun rules — if you show someone buckling up, I expect them to crash.
