Yeah it’s unfortunate that my comment was on a post that mostly focused on their video chat offering, which makes sense as a FaceTime competitor. It’s their new text chat offering that mostly drives me nuts, but the two tend to get mentioned together.

Exactly. It’s really amazing that Google is in all parts of our lives but hasn’t mastered some basic ways of keeping things synchronized between phone and desktop / email.

It’s phone only, as in no desktop app. I’m confused why you think that has anything to do with cell vs wifi.

I didn’t understand this when they first announced it, and I still don’t. Make hangouts better, not superfluous. Having this new messaging app that is phone only and tied to your phone but NOT MMS/SMS, and then having hangouts which is phone and desktop.... it’s ridiculous. Why can’t Google figure this out? Whatever…

Great stuff! I love the idea of using it as a design feature rather than a tacked on thing that’s purely function. My roof is functional too, doesn’t mean it has to be ugly :)

It makes sense to make rectangle first — it’s efficient and going ot fit the most rooflines. But just adding one triangular panel to the repertoire would help a LOT of folks. Your roof is flat and featureless, so it looks fine. But when people don’t have rectangular roofs, or one pesky little vent is sticking up,…

And solar panels are fucking hideous. IT drives me bonkers that they basically come in ONE shape, so any irregularities of your roof (or, if like me, you have a hip roof) turn the solar panel design into a modern art masterpiece. Anything to improve this is a-ok with me (and hella “sexy”)

Even if it doesn’t “come with” a spare, why not send out the fleet truck with a new wheel with a new tire already mounted, rather than a second car?

I know I’m just a stupid unstylish white straight guy, but I think cargo shorts look way better than non-cargo shorts. Non-cargo shorts look odd to me. Maybe it’s just that I’m so used to only seeing them on preppy douchebags in a catalog because no real humans actually wear regular shorts.

I fell into this trap, even though since graduation I have been steadily employed with steadily increasing income, I still spent so savagely those first few years out of college (and probably even moreso the last few years OF college, when I was working as a Co-Op and already getting a taste of good money coming in)…

They need to be changed much less frequently for sure, but drive a car long enough and everything wears out eventually :)
