Dudes at my work watch videos with the sound on (loud) on their phones in the bathroom. I want to throw acid (or maybe my own feces) over the stall wall at them.

I have to imagine it’s a pretty small subset of jobs where a CFO has the final / only input into who gets hired. Any technical job is going to have a hell of a lot more than one person interview, and it’s going to take more than a two hour window, and the CFO likely will have nothing to do with it.
Same. I stay far away from suspensions.
I’m just amazed that so many people are into fantasy. Like... i get that there’s boobs and violence and shit, but there’s also DRAGONS. And I draw the line at dragons (and I’m a HUGE nerd, just not a fantasy nerd).
Eh, Boston fans were already smug assholes before they started winning, it just kind of morphed into something slightly different after they won. Before they would brag about losing and how REAL their fandom was because of all the losing, now they brag about winning and how real their fandom is because of the earlier…
“It’s never crashed.”
Honest question, given the truthfulness of reporting out of North Korea, it seems like one COULD have crashed on NK soil and never been reported.
Right, if they were announcing an AI that passed the Turing test, it would be news. Something akin to “SmartBuddy” that was on AIM 15 years ago, not so much.
Not to be that guy, but chat bots? Aren’t we kind of past chat bots nowadays? With Google is there any reason to use a chat bot outside of “i don’t want to switch tabs in my browser”?
Sorry if it came off as if I was accusing you, not how it was intended.
My only problem with leasing is the whole mileage thing. I mean, I would never lease because I put a LOT of miles on cars, but even for people for whom the mileage limits are reasonable, everyone I know with a lease is constantly wishy-washy on driving anywhere because “of the miles.” It’s a convenient excuse if you…
I’ve owned several “old” Fords. They weren’t over-engineered, believe me. They were easier and cheaper to fix, but ot say an old car was more reliable or longer-lasting than a modern one is pure fiction. Appliances, I will absolutely give yo uthat those don’t last as long, but cars? Like I said, if you’ve ever owned…
Totally agree. This opinion is popular with me. I live in NH. NH and MA both have state safety inspections. My wife is from CT. We drive there a lot. I’m sure there’s some confirmation bias going on, but every time we drive down there I feel like the ratio of cars with burnt out brake lights or missing headlights…
I agree with what you say is happening. I disagree that that can be considered “planned obsolescence.” To me that term indicates a nefarious intent — “we want this thing to break after so long so someone people buy another one.” Just being cheap / cost-effective is different, at least to me. I realize that might be…
I think planned obsolescence in most cases is a fiction — no company sets out to make a product that is going to break, for sure, even if many tech companies will want to entice you to buy a new version every year or so. In reality, it would be harder to design something that would “only last ten years,” but still be…
I think it will always need to be at least four fans, or would take crazy amounts of balance to keep upright, no?
He recognizes his constitutional rights as law, even though the only laws he recognizes are the 10 commandments.... Ummm...
For anyone curious, like I was, of the mechanics of such a thing, here’s a nice article.
USB Type-C is the connector. USB 3.1 is just a standard, and can use any connector, including the original style.

Yup, always a backpack. If I can’t fit whta I need in a large backpack, I’ll check a bag. Seeing everyone fight and piss and moan about overhead space on every single flight I’m on... no thanks. Backpack almost always fits under seat in front of me, and it’s worth the 15 minutes of waiting for the luggage carousel to…

No marking of episodes as listened is insane to me. There also appears to be no ability to add podcasts to any kind of playlist. I know the article mentions curated playlists (or even contextual playlists) but whta if I want to just add some of my subscribed podcasts to a playlist in a specific order, like literally…
