With that windshield, how effective are the sunvisors? Are they... different? I see them hanging there but not in use.

When I did this (a solid 15 years ago now, ugh), our plane didn’t even HAVE a door. We took off and there was just a CURTAIN separating the interior of the plane from the outside world. That’s when my brain started going “wha... um... SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT.” The place we went was also much less crowded and we got a…
All of these policies are designed to get people to buy booze on-board, not to curb drinking. Believe me, there are no cruise ships without people drinking COPIOUS amounts of alcohol.
You’re not punishing the plane or the airline, you’re punishing fellow passengers, that’s the point.
I think i was pretty clear in the comment that it was not a hard distinction between renting and owning.
I had a family move above me once when I was renting, and I swear to go their two kids wore lead boots and had jumping competitions.
I own now, but my biggest problem with renting wasn’t necessarily financial so much as logistic — it’s a lot harder to rent a place that is freestanding, and shared-wall neighbors are so often obnoxious. Maybe I just had bad luck, but every time I had a shared wall (or ceiling) the noise was ... significant at times…
Maybe in Canada. I work at a Northeast office of a major tech company . There are more names in my office that I can’t pronounce than those that I can. (I realize one office of one company is not a relevant statistic)
That is a ridiculous experience, but yes, I have to imagine quite a bit about their interview process and corporate culture in general has changed in 45 years :)
Why on earth would you need to “flip” a sleep number mattress? The air doesn’t wear in. Is there a pad on top that is not removable / flippable? That seems like a design flaw, if that’s what you mean.
It’s funny, I had that thought (kind of) — “this is ridiculous, there’s NO WAY the Patriots would pull this shit on purpose tonight after everything that’s been going on.” But maybe it’s kind genius because most people had that thought. Or maybe the NFL is just turning into the WW[E/F] where the Patriots have become…
If she has a legitimate health problem, I certainly don’t think she should be criminally prosecuted (though she should probably lose her license for a long time). The calm, deliberate way she got out of the car and walked away made it seem like she was pretty “with it”. It’s easy to say “oh she had a mental episode,…
Come on. You watched the video right? There are any number of things she could and should be charged with. Reckless endangerment comes immediately to mind. She drove her car into oncoming traffic. Regardless of whether she was behind the wheel, her reckless actions caused that to happen. Now, I admit my outrage is…
I see your point, and I also think in my annoyance above I was conflating criminal guilt with just... culpability. She may not be charged criminally but she should certainly be held responsible, from a liability standpoint.
That’s a pretty big oversimplification. You can be “guilty” of criminal wrongdoing even if there was no intent. Manslaughter is the most common one. I think you’re probably right, but still.
I was hoping to see that analysis myself. Speed of running normal apps over time, or something.
Just because something is (far) more likely to have problems does not mean that everyone will have problems. Are you one of those idiots who insists smoking is good for you because your grandfather smoked for 60 years and never had a problem, too? OR do you understand at least some basic level of statistics ?
Not according to the post or the response.
You don’t find having a magnet in your pocket inconvenient, or even dangerous (credit cards, for example)?
Is it a Decepticon?
