Two-year old iPhones are worth a surprising amount, but they’re certainly not an investment and shouldn’t be treated as such.

I’ve never heard of a “get back whip.” Weird.
My personal worst.... my wfie and I had just bought our first house. She’s away for the weekend, we’ve owned the house less than a month. i decide to do some basement work. We have an unfinished basement, and at some point in the house’s history someone had put a room in the basement, but all that is left of hte room…
Skim-coating a wall is a skill, but it’s done pretty often. If you’re not good at it (i’m also not, and would never in a million years sign up to do it) yo’ull just never get it right. Someone who IS good at it can do amazing things.
We had a plumber putting in a basement bathroom do the same thing!! He did all of the hard work, but we had also hired him to do finish work. He stopped coming at one point, saying he was “going through rough times,” which is fine, but after like a MONTH he stopped even returning our calls. Not only didn’t ge thte…
Verizon’s ridiculous amount of “bundled software” is one of the biggest reasons I won’t use them (and I don’t typically use “stock” ROMs for my phones anyway, but Verizon support for a lot of ROMs on desireable phones is also lacking since they use what is considered by most of the world to be a non-standard network).
Dunkin Donuts? I thought you said you liked coffee?
Wait, what’s “Stock?” Modern Android comes with Chrome as “Stock”, doesn’t it? I mean, ignoring manufacturer nonsense like HTC’s browser.
I’ve always loved Jeeps and always wanted one, but people forgiving all manner of faults because of an intangible is very stupid. Just because a vehicle has a certain something doesn’t mean it should be allowed to skate by on its aura in favor or legitimate improvements. I mean, there’s an appeal to a vheicle that…
You sure about that last bit? Generally S-Off is required to flash firmwares and radios, but there are ROMs out there that are GPE but use the Sense partitioning and radios pretty successfully. I was able to get S-Off on my M8 before they closed the hole, but reading threads since then it seemed at least plausible.
Shipping would likely be free anyway, it just wouldn’t be as quick.
I don’t have that many acquaintances who ride either. Basically my cousin and I are the only two people I know. Neither of us, in 15 years of riding (15 years! fuck i’m old), has crashed. We’ve both had close calls, and gnarly situations, but managed to get out of them. I don’t ride anymore (for now, I sold my bike to…
Hang out with fewer squids?
I understand that the whole “there’s two types of riders, those who have crashed and those who will” or whatever thing is meant as a warning, but it’s inaccurate and defeatist. Should you always be prepared for a potential crash? Yes. Should you ASSUME that you will crash some day? No, you should not. You should…
Was hoping someoen would do the research for me on that one. It seemed fishy.
Re: windows on planes, I remember a story a few years ago about how it would be WAY more fuel efficient and fast for us to fly in some variation of hte “flying wing” style of aircraft (like the B-2) but they would have to be essentially windowless from a passenger perspective, and passengers just wouldn’t stand for it…
On top of that, there is a budget, and most of it isn’t tax money. There are endowment funds and historical funds and all sorts of crazy loopholes (I say loopholes in the sense that it’s not tax money but it’s still not THEIR money).
Eh, it’s a matter of taste, I get it. I kind of fell out of love with the Doors in general — I loved them as a teenager, for sure — but can recognize that some of their songs are good and still enjoy them. That album, though... I can’t recognize any good in it. “Touch Me” is a misguided attempt at making a pop hit for…
Badum-CHA!
When you cranked the heat up on cold winter nights did you feel just a LITTLE high?
