"Wear pants, people."
"Wear pants, people."
A lot easier once I knew I was right, really.
The article I linked provides details enough to say it was driver error. She drove into a curb — by herself — and flipped her vehicle (something that requires quite a bit of extra bad decision-making). I admit to not knowing these details before searching out that story, and thus "talking out my ass," but having…
I'm using logic and observation to come up with a probable hypothesis. A modern motor vehicle flipped on a clear dry road and no other vehicle was involved. The overwhelmingly likely reason is user error. Innocent people are killed by user error. My ass rests.
Yes, please, continue to blindly defend people who drive recklessly because they're old and cute.
I'm fine with fake doctor's notes to buy weed because weed doesn't affect others for the most part. Dogs... can. I don't say this as a hater of dogs - I have THREE dogs at home and love them fully. But not everyone does. Some people are allergic to dogs, some people just don't like them. I see no reason to force…
It's a small Honda on a non-highway. The only way you could flip such a vehicle under those conditions is GROSS negligence, or being hit by a fucking tractor. I don't see a tractor.
It's hilarious, because they're a menace and could have killed someone! Hahahahah!
Excellent post. There are definitley way more variables involved than "major" and "income."
You may be right, and I'm sure I suffer from a lot of confirmation bias when I think that most of the ones I see (esp at the airport) are old women with "therapy" dogs that fit in their handbags to help their "anxiety." (I'm not putting down anxiety disorders, as I suffer from them myself, so please don't misread…
I know. It was unfair of me to lump in the abuses of the systme with other legitimate service animals, but the abuses are getting out of control.
Hahaa. I love dogs (I have three, I had better), and I love businesses that allow dogs, but I think forcing businesses to allow dogs just because someone got a fake medical note is baloney.
Well at least you're rational and not at all crazy. And that figure on "lifetime" salaries of retired Congressmen is, as far as I can tell, completely made up by you.
How about "if it's not a seeing eye dog." This "assistance dog" thing has gotten out of control. It's like medical marijuana, anyone can just claim to have an "assistance dog" with a doctor's note.
Fair point, but it's not really treated like one by the education system, which tends to treat it more as a liberal arts major. And students treat it that way too — Of the dozens of people I know who were psychology majors, only a handful had any intention of going into the field of psychology; the rest just wanted a…
Depends if you have a sense of humor or not, too.
I was making a joke, of course, but as has been stated ad nauseum, this article is about return on investment. 50k is a fine salary in some parts of the country, but if you went to a private college and spent 150k on your education, it starts to look not so good :)
I live in NH, not California. I mean, my property taxes aren't great but we don't have any other taxes here..
Excellent tips, thank you.
