Of course not, but even if he only paid 150k.... you have to be able to come up with that 150k. Most people buy the house they can afford, not the house they can afford and also come up with another 150 thousand dollars to fix up.

But how much did you spend on the house vs how much you paid for it vs how much it's worth? The point is that a lot of people won't be able to afford to fix such major problems, not that it won't be worth it in the end.
Yeah, I'm not obsessive about it, and I feel silly doing it, but it really is nice to not have the blades spot-welded in ice to the windshield. If it's just normal snow it's no big deal, but any kind of ice, it can be a nightmare.
Yeah, it makes total sense, but when you hear people fight back against similar laws in the US, where everything in discourse is all or nothing, they just say "BUT THEN NO ONE WOULD EVER SUE ANYONE." First, good, but second, no there are ways to do things right. See : Canada.
Ahhh, so it seems (based on that article) that you can be forced to pay some amount of costs, but not necessarily all, and not all the time. Interesting.
Honest question that you may or may not know the answer to : how do they protect against mismatched court spending? IE, if you sued... Apple... wait, it's Canada... um... if you sued Molsen, and they paid their lawyers 3 million dollars to defend themselves... do you have to pay 3 million dollars?
I'm 'Murican and have only been to fair Canada once (and then only to Niagara Falls, which doesn't even count), and yet I still agree with this. We're the worst. If it wasn't so cold up there I'd move.
Dude, the "burning things to the ground" thing was NOT meant to be taken literally. Your sense of humor is about as obvious as your love of children.
Fair enough, i can respect that.
I'm sorry but this is like the union president defending unions. Your opinion has no objectiveness. And while it's true what you say about the point of HOAs, it's ALSO true that they OFTEN (in the case of this account and MANY others) get out of control.
Dont' take this the wrong way, but you're definitely part of the problem. I understand you're probably very rich, and more power to you, but in my mind the stipulations you put forth (no cars or basketball hoops) are the most absurd things in the world. No cars of any type parked outside, just because you're afraid…
Ignoring the discriminatory aspect, these agreements all have clauses that they can be amended by a specific procedure, and that you agree to abide by any amendments made by that procedure. Probably some majority vote of a governing group of the HOA. I honestly think you'd be INSANE to join an HOA unless it was…
I see your general point - reading the "continuity errors" on IMDb makes me want to punch someone - but these are done for amusement. They're meant to be amusing, not nitpicky (at least that's how I take them).
I'd also like to know this. I totally get that people sign into HOAs and thus whatever happens after they sign that contract is their fault, but how do they enforce houses within a neighborhood signing the contract to begin with? Must be some agreement with the town zoning commission or something right?
I'm not defending this nonsense, but part of the agreement you sign is that you give them the power to amend the agreement (via certain procedures). It's all in the contract. I honestly think you'd be crazy to sign one of those things unless it was EXTREMELY limited and non-amendable without unanimous agreement.
This post is perfect proof that people are all different, because every piece of this post sounds like hell to me. All the houses are the same color and look identical? Sounds like the most boring place on the planet. And I understand not wanting garbage or rotted out cars sitting around, but a basketball hoop? …
Unless you're talking about something else (I dont' think you are) this is officially known as "Google Tasks." I agree that it is the best, not because it is the most feature-laden but because it integrates everywhere (and there are some great Chrome plugins and Android / iOS apps for it as well).
I could definitely see that. I suppose it depends how they define "remodel." Again, it's not that it's impossible for it to cost that much, but for it to be the average.... they just can't be counting the "average" remodel of some guy slapping up a few walls for a basement "man cave" (ugh i hate that term) or…
Came here to say exactly this. Whoever the suits "think" this movie will appeal to, the only people it will really appeal to are children (which, to be fair, is a moniker that does extend well into the 20's now). Gearheads may see it to have a laugh at the absurdity and occasional car pr0n, but no way is anyone over…
