That is absolutely the reason. The regime controls all the media so if the team lost, nothing would be said and they would be shuffled out to labor camps and/or be shamed publicly. If they won, then it would have been all over Gov’t media and how they owned the SK’s and all the KJU/Trump-like embellishment. Read more
