There is probably a sensor on it and when the sunshade fails the vehicle will go into limp mode- to replace involves removing the engine and front subframe

It makes a lot of sense to stay flexible until the actual demand for millions of EVs is there. The reality is that in most of the world EV mass adoption is still a long way off.

I disagree with you here - they are not saying they CAN’T make a pure EV, just that, as a smaller car company, they have to be as flexible as possible.

Yes, please make an EV good looking. Why do you think the Prius has been made fun of so much over the years by car lovers? Hint: it isn’t because it gets phenomenal fuel economy and is ridiculously reliable.

Day 1 as CEO of BMW, I announce... a new car company. EMW. Seriously. Hear me out.

Or at least lets stop making EVs into these cheesy looking parodys of themselves.

gated manuals and NA V8s in everything, because that’s what The People want, per my understanding from these comment sections.

Welcome to the liberal communist state of California. Hopefully shit like this makes you think about who your voting for.

It reminds me of my 1979 Honda Civic, to this day my most favorite car I ever own or driven. That is a selling point that a Smart or IQ never had, appeal.

I like it because it reminds me of a modern iteration of a mk1 golf

I wouldn’t have a moment’s hesitation. RWD? Check. Maneuverable? Check. Attractive? Check (beauty is in the eye of the beholder, anyhow). Fun colors? Check. Lightweight? Check. Balanced? Check. Affordable? Yet to be determined, but that seems to be the goal, so a preemptive Check.

I agree. I feel like Ford hit its peak styling a few years ago.

The previous generation Explorer was very handsome and well-proportioned (for an SUV). This thing is just ... awkward. I do think it looks better in person but I still prefer the previous model’s aesthetics.

How dare you besmirch the good name of James William Bottomtooth the Third by comparing him to such a plebeian conveyance.

When will we point out that the real issue is with people attempting to make side work their FT job? Instead of blaming all these side gig app companies maybe point out that none were ever set up to replace FT work, but to literally be a side gig to make extra money.

This war against Uber as the enemy of everything we hold dear is getting tiresome. We get it, Jalopnik is pro union and anti-corporate.

Banning cars is such a stupid idea, it’s incredibly regressive for one thing, as it usually impacts low income families who can’t afford something electric. Plus, you basically told the commuters in Madrid to fuck off. So it’s a good thing that this happened IMO.

No street parking in the downtown core...this seems problematic.

Drivers and Police get grumpy with them because they (cyclists) only follow the laws of traffic when it suits them. Run a red light or stop sign, no problem i’m a bike i can do it. Cross multiple lanes of traffic at once, “it’s ok i’m on a bike”. Ride between the lines of cars stopped in heavy traffic or at alight,

It is tragic when someone dies so young and so randomly. Having said that, no amount of wishing will put bikes on equal footing with vehicle in the USA... and people on bikes need to drive that way.when I ride in the city I don’t act like another car. I don’t even act like a pedestrian. I act like the person at
