If a Democrat wants to win in one of these deep red districts they need to run as an independent or even a republican. Getting an average voter there to vote Democrat is always going to be harder than running on the policies of a Democrat and claiming you are something else.

Dems already do that and it backfires on them, because they cede way too much of the country to Republicans, turning it into a right-wing echo chamber. They also tend to focus way too far on short term tactics and not long-term strategy.

Total bullshit. Motorcycle engines are every bit as capable of hitting six-figure mileage as a car engine is, but you don’t see as many because A) there are far less motorcycles on the road as there are cars, and B) people are far less likely to ride 100k miles as they are to drive 100k miles.
