Well I think the biggest difference, is that offroading motorbikes takes some skill and practice.... and naturally during that process you’re going to learn the ‘rules of the road.” AKA- stay on trails etc etc...

Man.. the sxs’s have to go!

I recall when I was selling cars here in Colorado— A kid came in, obviously a college student, looking to trade in his old bmw on a newish subi. He (and his car) were from Michigan and it naturally, it had a some rust.

As the saying goes about German engineering: “why use 2 parts when you could use 36?”

This.

You forgot to all-caps “phenomenal”.

Great idea. Keep them separated brand wise..

I hear what you’re saying... and there’s certainly a degree of “traditionalism” in both the harley and porsche circles.

I get that they need to attract a different demographic.. I chuckled when I saw the recent ads for the “Harley hillclimb comp at the x-games” Lol

I have a hard time thinking that would be any kind of sales success. I gotta think the harley core wouldn’t touch an electric motorcycle (look at vrod sales...). And those who would be open to an electric motorcycle, are not going into a harely dealership..............

Well, I think we can agree that if ducati wants to make a bike that will leave people shaking and terrified, it can do so, easily. So it sounds as if Ducati didn’t want to make this a high-performance bike... on wait, that’s right... this is the baby version of a Monster....

And?

“It’s clean looking and fun, but won’t leave many riders shaking and stammering”

Exactly.

I was involved in some laboratory emissions testing back in 2000. While chatting with one of the lab techs, we were discussing the “official EPA fuel efficiency test” since we were using it for the vehicles we were testing.

I’m in colorado, and I pretty much laugh at people that *swear* they need awd (subaru’s) here....

I do not.... I drive a stock GTI, so I’m not the person to ask regarding after-market shops... Unless you’re looking for a ducati-based race bike.. then I know some great guys... lol

Well... two potential reasons for that:

Same difference... turbo, supercharged.. whatever the method, forced induction for the win here.

At 9000 ft in elevation a NA engine will lose ~30% of it’s power. But a turbo-charged engine will only lose 10%....
