Shame—but unsurprising—that Meghan uses thoroughly debunked talking points about Ellison and Farrakhan. Ellison disavowed him years ago, and has had to denounce Farrakhan repeatedly in the MN AG race because his competitor can’t stop making false statements.

Take it from a sex machine: you sound very high-maintenance. And not in a good way.

Except for all the other remaining percentage of time that they’re pleased as punch about being violent fuckers with mass-murdering fuckhead fantasies.

Oh how preciously adorable that Bill can sit comfortably and tweet/opine about hoaxes. Reading that someone is propagating that the bomb threats are hoaxes is enough to make me want to throw my laptop in an act of rage. I fucking LOATHE that every act of violence is shrugged off/brushed aside as a matter of course.

God, I remember that. I’ve been lurking here far, far too long.

When did those go away?!? Granted, my comment in surprise gives you an idea of how long it’s been since *I’ve* paid attention. But those were fun when I read them and the twice ever I commented.

I’m in line after you and Dreaded Rear Admiral (and probably 50 others, realistically), over there. I know I’m not as quick-witted or punny as most Deadspin commentariat but being grayed over there sucks.

Content aside (or included?) this event flyer is the latest demonstration that anything associated with Trump has zero professional standards. Especially aesthetic standards.

Thank you. Having a brain that functions well with logic doesn’t mean a person has a heart, empathy, compassion, etc. I’m a data management and implementation nerd in public health, and widespread misanthropy in the computer science arena manifests in aspects large and small. It’s not difficult to connect the dots

Ugh--star. Well-played.

Uh, but a lot of folks kinda do. Education background from jump rules out primary non-urban settings—unless I want to go back to agriculture-related professions. I like horticulture and could keep herds of dairy goats alive year-round. My day job is tied directly to major research projects, and to robust public health

Only one? Let’s be real, here.

We absolutely have to retool it: other countries have better-structured Constitutions than ours. We have legitimate models to look at that were inspired by our Constitution, but filled in gaps because other countries don’t have traditionalist erections for 18th-century moral mores driving 20th and 21st-century rights.

It’s almost as if they (Jack, Krueger, HamNo) are begging to be cannon fodder day in, day out. If you’re educated but can’t think your way out of a paper bag, then frankly no political systems (of the US, or other western countries’ systems) knowledge or magical thinking (we’re holding out for the unicorn candidate!)

I debated about whether or not to respond. Because using an NFL team in comparison to a presidential candidate—who, while imperfect embodied intelligence, articulateness, experience, competence—is a fantastically shitty analogy.

I’m super-pessimistic (my theme for the week about my country), and agree 110%.

God, thank you. I am fine with people voting for whomever they want. That said, I loathe shitty logic. I had issues with Hillary, but voted enthusiastically for her. It’s wasn’t her job to campaign like a goddamn muse like Venus, emerging from a scallop shell. It’s her job to be intelligent and extremely competent.

Other plans involve having legitimate, intelligent third parties that aren’t totally bonkers, so that we could have stable further-left candidates on a regular basis. Plus a system that isn’t designed to lock into the binary.

Well said. Truly. This strategy—particularly with combined Dems financing candidates in all races, regardless of district voter makeup—can work. But it’s a long game, and not crying “squirrel!” or getting into the mud of “this candidate isn’t perfect/left enough” are two significant dangers.

I’m so pessimistic right now. For me, there are two distinct issues that prop up Trump and Cavanaugh. The obvious and easier-to-address target is the core Trump base of conservative voters, typically from rural states. In some cases, uneducated—in other cases, not. This is the low-hanging fruit category.
