Poltergeist obvs jumps out. Innerspace is another one. Back to the Future. Men in Black. The Flintstones... ugh, what a missed opportunity. The ones that suck though, would make a list like this interesting.

While I wouldn’t go this far, I’d say it might work better as a stage play. Sally Field wasn’t doing it for me. Michael Stuhlbarg was very good though. But I’d agree the rest of the supporting cast kind of blurs together.

The best Spielberg movies, for me, hit a level so good and so immersive that you forget they’re Spielberg movies. I can’t think of a moment in Raiders where I’d pump my fist and go “Spielberg!” It’s clicking on so many levels that the director’s personal flourishes fade and blend in with everything - thus its near

People forget how fucking nuts the boat sequence is. Plus people getting ground up, turned into alien fertilizer, and sprayed on plants is some of the darkest shit Spielberg has ever done.

Would flip WOTW with Minority Report. At least with Minority Report’s happy ending, you can squint and theorize that it’s a dream Cruise’s character is having in his eternal sleep.

This! Company earnings pre-pandemic are pretending the pandemic never existed. They’re fucking us to ensure their trajectory barely moved, and now that things are getting normal, they’re realizing they don’t have to stop fucking us. The meat and poultry industry are still low-key fucking the country in what feels like

With every TV show and movie introducing (at least) two spin-off characters, the bloat seems insurmountable. They’ve got to start recombining and constricting. I think Young Avengers will only have half the characters available to them. No to Wanda’s kids. No Kid Loki. Scarlet Scarab stays with Moon Knight. Teen Kid

Unless: After making romantic promises between snuggling and sweet nothings, Andor snuck out after exhausting them in the sack! That dawg.

The probability of tonal whiplash would be high.

My guess is that Season One ends with Mon Mothma on the run. Maybe they’ll save that for S2 and cliffhanger on her being busted - then open S2 with Mon’s escape. It’ll be interesting to see how (or even if) the show gets her to her big rallying broadcast scene from the Ghost on Rebels.*

Came to the comments for this very reason. Nature Trail to Hell is my #1.

I’m like, “Sure, kid, identify with a Star Wars character to help with anxiety over health issues. But this?” I guess the premise only works with Stormtroopers. Jawas maybe. Misguided is right. So misguided, it loops around, sabotages itself, and becomes a sociopolitical mind-fuck.

Thank you. This has always bugged the shit out of me. Example: (if it loads)

Ava Sharpe!!!

Two simpler things to add:

Different challenge: “If I had a magic SW eraser...”

And boy-o you can see Andy Serkis’ character’s heartbreak coming. 200 something days left before freedom? Riiight.

Honestly I think if he’s got writer’s block, him saying over and over again this publishing date that never shows, is a way to be optimistic (for his own ... idk ... mental health) and also a way to try and kickstart his own process. He hit a plot wall or one of the character threads unraveled, and the only way to fix

Lol. So, YouTubes are back now? Cool.
