I think Ebert is remembering John Waters. Started with Devine eating actual dogshit - 25 years later made Crybaby, Hairspray & Serial Mom. Pretty sure Ebert thumbs-upped those last three.

It was in the way people’s eyes go up and go unfocused when they’re thinking and trying to access different parts of their brains. Paul’s eyes are going everywhere when he’s trying to think through something - especially when trying to work through what venue or “event” is supposed to be the culmination of the month.
At least he looks like a guy who partied all night and never went home.
I wish the rooftop concert HAD MORE BILLY!
I kept thinking of Floyd at Pompeii and imagining the same couple producers as always suggesting an ancient amphitheater as their career go-to "big" idea. Stodgy Brits and their dreams of being Lawrence of Arabia.

I always imagined when Indy got ready to retire, he'd go back to the cave and takeover for the Knight.
The Goonies could do it!
They had the Jerome & Jeremiah twins. Both played well by Cameron Monaghan
Hutch - you called it.
The wet Hall-of-Justice floor makes it look scuzzy - like the roof leaks. But, maybe that’s the point.
Batwoman: Yeah, I’m not a fan of pointy supervillain costume shoulders. No doubt there are costume fans out there who are like “Yes! C-lassic!!” I think the promo photo, while I agree - was great, was shot from a low angle so the shoulders were de-emphasized.
I was going to say! Mr. E. Staples is a sexist-egotistical-lying-hypocritical-bigot!
They name-checked the fireman LARPer, so I’m thinking he’ll be back. I’ll be more forgiving if there turns out to be a creative callback later. I apologize if this was a minor spoiler b4 you watched the episode.
Harsh Narrator Who Appropriated the Arrested Development Trope to Punch Down on LARPers Thus Confirming Said Trope’s Continued Use is Two Years Past its Sell-By Date. Harsh.
I’m glade Caroline is reviewing this too. I was afraid I was going to open my phone this morning and see a pair of C- grades from one of the other regs. That said I thought ep1 was B+ but ep2 was in the C range. The LARP scene kinda sucked. No real humans, not even hardcore nerds, act like that. And the fireman…
Well, they’re sticking with Barry’s perspective including “lost time” and all, which helps build paranoia. It’s effective so far.
Just finished the whole schmear. Vicious gets better with his backstory episode.
